Works Great So Far!
I installed this unit on a 1959 Ford Galaxie with a non-original radiator (the original radiator might've made mounting the fan more difficult, as those often had less space between the cooling fins, making it tougher to insert the zip-tie mounts). Installed really easily, although the mounting system is odd: the four zip-tie pieces are generic and obviously are not made for the special slotted mounts around the fan's perimeter. Those slots should fit zip-ties with specially-molded ends, but the ties supplied with the fan don't have the molded ends. I just drilled four holes in the frame, zipped everything together, and it works great. As others have mentioned, there's no harness beyond the wiring's plug-and-socket connectors (which are fairly generic and can easily accept similar connectors). And figuring out which wire is positive and negative--to switch the fan's direction--is complete trial and error. But hey, the thing seems to pull lots of air, so it's just what I needed.

Lasts about 5 months turning 24/7 in a non-automotive application
I use these fans to cool a radiator for an industrial purpose. As I had it set up, the fan pulled the hot air through the radiator which was cooling 140 degree F mineral oil. Each one lasts about 5 months running round the clock, connected to a 12 volt transfomer. In a car they would not be used nearly as much. I expect that if I had used it as a pusher, rather than a puller, it would have lasted much longer since it would not be constantly heated by the air drawn through the radiator.Installation is easy, though no instructions were provided. They include springs and pads, so the place where the fan and the posts holding the fan to the radiator don't compress the fins too much. It's very simple to install.I tried to take the motor apart to find what gave out, but it is welded shut and I decided not to grind it open. When I turn the armature it sounds like there is sand in the gears. In taking it apart I was very pleased with the materials used. The fan seems glass fiber reinforced, but there were no markings. For some reason they number each fin, if that's important to anyone. The fan is molded with a ring around the outer circumference to hold the fan blades rigid as they spin. The center of the fan blade, where it attaches to the armature, has steel molded in place, so the fit on the armature will not loosen. Again, very good quality.I have revised my setup so I am running two of these, one pushing, the other pulling opposite the other. I hope the increased airflow will keep my oil cooler and thus extend the life of the one that is pulling. I will update if any problems develop. There are lot of these available from different sellers on Amazon. They are all identical, obviously made by the same company, so shop for price. I've seen $20 differences between sellers for the same item. The best deal I found was buying two, and even then a few days later the set of two went on sale! If you can get them for $15 each, you'll be doing great.Since most cars run at 90 degrees, and the fan is only on intermittently, I expect these will last a good long time, especially if you are able to mount the fans to push cold air rather than pull hot air.I recommend these as a very good value.

3 years old and still going! Buying a second Fan now For another project!
First off I bought a 2x 12inch fan, 1x 16inch fan. The 16 inch fan is 3 years old and runs about 15 hours a day under 95f+ temps. It draws about 4amps on start up and 2.5ish running in a pusher setup to vent heat in a crawlspace that gets pretty hot here in sc in the summer. I have had zero problems with this unit and it still is going strong like the day i bought it. I have to mention I'm not sure how they came up with the cfm ratings. The 16 inch fan moves 1850cfm of air. The 12inch fans move 1500cfm of air. They draw 3.6 amps on startup. And 2.1amps running up to speed. I have this exactly mapped out cause of the project it is attached to. I used the two 12inch fans to cool off a genarator cabinet for are house. They run in nasty weather and in hurricanes to be exact. 3 hurricanes later they still work like the day i bought them. The only reason I am now buying a 3rd 12inch fan is my neighbors fans keep eating dirt in hit cabinet for his genarator. He asked me to buy him one cause he is so impressed how long mine lasted! My only complaint about these fans are if you use them as a puller. The motor will run about 110f or more temps. The way the fan pulls it flows right past the motor but does not really make contact enough to cool. If you use them as a pusher. Air comes toward the metal surface of your motor and stays around 90f or less even when it's brutally hot here in the summer. For a car i dont think this really matters since the fans are cooled by air as you drive around. Great fan for projects and could see them lasting a long time for there intended use as well. Ball bearings in these are sealed and seem to be staying nice and smooth even in are salt air and nasty weather! So anyone that likes to tinker I think you will be very happy with your choice on buying this fan.

replaced the one on my 2008 cf moto quad. just used the motor, my fan blades and cowling bolted right to it and I spliced my plug to it, the wires were the same color as well. perfect
