Great backlit keyboard for Lenovo T480
DIY upgrade from an unlit keyboard to this one with the backlight on my T480. You can find how-to videos on YouTube. I would call this moderately easy to do, just need the right size screwdriver and some patience with the two ribbon cables inside, which are a bit delicate. After install, works better than the 8-yr-old keyboard it replaced, with the option to do bright, dim, or off on the backlight

Really bad design.
Really bad design. I went through 2 of these and none worked on my T480. 1) Screws in the back don't align with the computer screws??? Straight up bad design as the first keyboard was able to screw only one, and the second keyboard, none. 2) Bent from factory. Both didn't want to slide under the keyboard frame. 3) Trackpoint buttons defective. Both keyboards had defective buttons and mis-registered clicks from the trackpoint buttons.

Two mislabeled keyboards, the second of which worked well enough
I first received a 5N20V43929, meant for a ThinkPad T14. The cables were not in the correct location for a T480. I then ordered a replacement, which was also in a box labeled 01HX499 but turned out to be a 01YT142, meant for a T460s or T470s. I decided to keep it because it was still compatible. The trackpoint malfunctioned, I couldn't find a way to disable it in software without also disabling its buttons, and I prefer the trackpad anyway, so I took a pair of scissors to the trackpoint's cable, which stopped its motion altogether without losing any other functionality. Now my T480 has a backlit keyboard with all the same keys, green modifier lock lights, and orange mute lights, as opposed to no backlight and white indicators.

Decent
It feels a bit like a m1 pro 14 macbook keyboard just less tactile and more mushy. the trackpad buttons dont register clicks sometimes (if you press it lightly, it will physically click but wont register an actual click) and the trackpoint is okay but isnt that sensitive compared to OEM. The lights are very dim, at max brightness It looks like an OEM with the lowest brightness setting EDIT: After adding some tape to the bottom of the left click, it now works perfectly fine. It took some time for adjustments though. If you are just looking for a backlit keyboard that has relatively little actuation force and arent using the trackpad buttons and trackpoint and dont care about it being bright, then this is a decent option.

Swaps-in Smoothly to Replace Worn OEM Keyboard
Every 2-3 years,, the keys on my Lenovo T480 show wear. Dome of the writing wears off and on quite a few keys the matte finish has become shiny or even wear down to a slight depression. This keyboard fit perfectly and restored the original appearance and function of my T480 keyboard to its as-new state. Changing the keyboard requires a partial take-apart of the machine. It is not hard to do, but those who have no experience with this should first review the T480 Lenovo Service manual which provides detailed instructions and is freely downloadable from the Lenovo web site. This restoration of the keyboard to an as new condition takes about 20min,for about $30 it is a bargain.

No backlight (a featured element)
Nice enough keyboard. But no backlight....I've tried under many OSes, including Arch, Win11&c. So you get what you pay for, I guess: cr.. that doesn't do as it should. /* EDIT....to the seller's great credit, they made things right: just happened to receive a faulty unit, and I understand those things happen, especially with high-volume mass produced items like this. I can't really change the overall rating, since the product itself is on "trial," but KBRPARTS are a stand-up company. */

Its not an original keyboard
it works. There's light. Its not the original keyboard of my Thinkpad T480 but there is light and it has three settings of brightness or off. Its worth the money but I'm going to keep my eyes open for an original one.
