Jerome Russell Color Bomb - Caramel Colour Depositing Conditioning Mask

My hair was virgin medium brown when I dyed it a deep burgundy at a salon (without bleach). It was nice but a little disappointing because it was only visible in sunlight, and the change was barely visible indoors. Disappointed, and feeling helpless and hopeless as I was against bleaching, I tried this product in Berry Red and was anxious about trying it because I didn’t know if it will work on my darker hair. BUT IT DID. The Berry Red has a pinkish tint to it which was exactly what I wanted, because it blended nicely with the burgundy base and made the purplish burgundy tone that I desperately wanted!! As I was drying and styling it, the colour was noticeable in indoor lighting. It still needs to be under lighting to appear in its full vividness, but it certainly satisfied me. The product is easy to clean off the bathroom tiles and sink, a spritz from a basic bathroom cleaner easily cleared it so it’s not at all hard to clean up. On the skin, however, I made the stains go away with facial cleanser on a cotton pad and it took a few rubs but it does go away so I find it quite easy to clean up, but it IS messy so definitely wear gloves and take off any jewellery. The water runs pink when rinsing it off the hair and the product leaves pinkish stains so this shade like I mentioned before has a pinkish undertone which is something you should keep in mind if you’re layering shades like I am. The bottle came a little smaller than I expected, but the product itself is quite saturated and I didn’t feel I had to use too much of it on my long hair (I avoided the roots and top crown but applied it onto 90% of my long hair) so I feel it would last me a while. It did leave my hair nicely soft and smooth when I was styling it with my hot comb afterwards. It smells nice but it’s not exceptionally fragrant, it just smells pleasant. It was easy to apply (I used my gloved hands and a wide-toothed comb). All in all, absolutely lovely product, did not disappoint with my darker hair, and provided the extra brightness I wanted.

I like this a lot. It's gentle, pre-mixed, easy to use, it changed my platinum blonde money pieces (which had turned to yellow tones) to a more golden blonde colour. First two pics are after using this product, the 3rd pic was the disaster white/yellow platinum blonde gone wrong! As you can see this product got rid of all the yellow tones. Hair feels really nourished and soft. I'm impressed with this product. Value for money. Only takes a few minutes to apply to damp hair, leave it on for 10 minutes, wash out and condition your hair, fantastic! And there is plenty left for another good few applications too! My colour looks way more toned and natural now.

I ordered this as an alternative to dying my hair constantly, as it’s red and fades quickly between dying. I wanted something that I could use between dying my roots that would keep it bright but not damage it too much. I ordered the shade Berry Red, and.. WOW. The colour is beautiful, it says it lasts up to 15 washes- I wash my hair every day and I put this mask on over 2 weeks ago - it’s still going strong! The instructions say to put it on damp hair but I did it on dry hair. It left my hair so shiny and soft, it smelt amazing and like I say, has lasted really well. The only downside is that it does bleed a lot and deposits on your pillow - It did wash out of my pillow case though! That tends to happen with a lot of red dyes though so not really a dealbreaker for me. I would definitely order this again and would recommend it. (My base colour was quite a bright red so I’m not sure how it would take to darker colours) Photo attached of result.

I ended up going from a level 10 bleached blonde down to a level 7 dark blonde with a well known permanent hair dye brand, and I wasn't happy with the results. I ended up with a slightly greenish 'hollow' muddy brown look that I wasn't happy with. So I came across this product in 'bronde' and read some reviews, and thought well, for the money, let's give it a go! I'm glad I did! I'm the mask added some lovely deep tones to my hair that has ridden me of the horrible green tinge jn my hair, and has given me a lovely dark blonde. I left the mask in for about half hour, completely saturating my hair, then conditioned for a minute just to add moisture and I ended up with lovely, well conditioned and shiny hair, thats absorbed the colour evenly. The smell is lovely, easy enough to use, and I think the price is really good. I had to out quite a lot on my hair just to ensure the green tone was taken out, but I believe that you can also mix these colour bombs together to make a perfect tone which is good, so if I decide I want to transition to a richer brown colour, I can mix in with warm blonde to make into a nice golden dark blonde/light brown colour. These hair masks are so much better than permanent dye. Permanent dye is so unpredictable and damaging so after using this mask I was able to achieve the colour I wanted. Not sure how long it will last as its only been a day since I've done it, but it definitely works. Leaves hair well conditioned, shiny and covers hair strands with no damage! What more can a girl want eh? I would recommend!!! Update: I HAVE CURRENTLY USED THE NEW 'JEROME RUSSELL BRUNETTE' IN COOL BROWN, and it didn't take to my hair like the 'bronde' in this original review did. Didn't cover my natural hair or greys, and the colour didn't even take to my already medium brown hair. It did however leave it nice and shiny and helped the condition of my hair. But the brunette colour is very pricey for what it is £14.99, and because it didn't work the way intended, I wouldn't recommend this particular colour in the brunettes range. Overpriced and ineffective and I'm very disappointed. For this I'd give a 2 STAR only for the condition and shine it leaves afterwards.

I had recently gone from blonde to light brown at the hairdressers but because of years of bleaching, the colour faded quicker than I’d have liked. I bought this to see if I could give my colour a bit of a boost between salon visits Initially I was really impressed with the results. I left it for 10 minutes and felt it had taken well and evenly to my hair. However, the next day in more natural day light I noticed a green tint to areas of my hair. It wasn’t all over but almost as though the colour took to certain areas and became too ashy/muddy. Not sure if the results would be better on hair that is already darker/wasn’t initially bleached, but I am now struggling to get rid of the green despite multiple washes.

True to colour and super simple to use.Plenty for several full head applications or multiple root colour touch ups,excellent value therefore.I have quite thick curly medium length hair.It was previously coloured with a pale pink neon crazy colour but had faded and grown out leaving white/silver grey roots which this totally covered and was solidly the same shade. It does bleed out on washing every time but after 4 it’s still as strong a colour and the condition is really nice.Impossible to rinse clear so just do as best you can and finish on a cool rinse and it does stain so use a Vaseline or similar around the skin on the hairline,ears and neck. Also wash off sink,shower and hard surfaces as soon as possible and definitely use a towel that doesn’t matter and an old top🫣🌸💗💓💞💕Basically I 100% recommend and will be buying again when I need to. May be trying a few more colours in future too.❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷living the rainbow life 🌈🌈🌈

be VERY cautious with this product. It worked well for some of my hair, I followed the instructions (although i didn't even leave it on for as long as it was instructed to) annnnnd it turned my hair purple... not very happy to be honest as i've been doing my own hair for a very long time and never had this issue before...only giving the one star because it worked on SOME of my hair, but now i'm going to have to try and get the purple out without damaging my hair.

Amazing!! It has taken all the brassy tones from my hair! Couldn't ask for more. The price is great cos the product is great, worth every penny.
