I have a Dyson supersonic and wanted something similar but smaller with dual voltage for travel. Dyson just made a travel one but it’s $300!!! I love the full sized one but even then I think it’s only worth $300 travel sized should be under $200. Anyways I went with this one instead by Supgaliy. While I don’t have the Dyson travel size to compare I compared it to my full sized Dyson. In comparison it is able to release the same airflow but since it’s smaller the volume air is lower. The heat does not get as hot as max heat level either. However, this is to be expected as it’s travel sized with lower wattage. I instead did a real world test of doing my same hairstyle with the Supgaliy to see if it would be similar to the full sized Dyson, and I can say that I definitely get similar results. I use max heat setting on the Dyson with low air to curl my hair with my fingers and round brush (lookup Isaac Yiu on YouTube for tutorials, I’m not him). With Supgaliy it takes a little bit longer since I need to wait for it to heat up after turning it on, and the lower heat gives me weaker curls. However, I bought this to do my hair in Japan when traveling, and I’m satisfied with how I can style my hair. I can’t do an elaborate well done style, but I can get close enough for a simple travel and sight seeing day. Held its shape all day long at work. I used mousse before styling, a touch of wax for flyaways, and quick hairspray burst only. For travel (I only go maybe once a year) it’s pretty worth the price for well under $100. The black version is definitely 100-240V, which means it should work in Japan 100V outlets. Even if it didn’t or it broke, I wouldn’t be too upset as it is a pretty cheap investment, and I would just buy one specifically from a local vendor in Japan. I’m not traveling until later this year so I’ll update only if it didn’t work. FYI you should expect that going from 120V USA to 100V Japan will cause less airflow in any dual voltage dryer. Heat should be the same but may take even longer to heat up when turned on. Either way, it’s probably going to be 10x better than the hotel ones I had last time I went to Japan that left my hair a flat mess for the day.

I purchased this hair dryer for travel to Europe. It’s perfect. Lightweight and powerful. It has three heat settings and they are true to the temperature. In Italy when you plug your dryer into their electric system it makes the device run much hotter. This dryer will protect my hair from burning. It has 2 attachments and a little bag to carry it all in. Perfect for travel.

I love my amazing Supgaliy H5 mini hair dryer! It’s small and light but feels very solid and well-made. It comes with its own international plug adapter. I just came back from a trip to France and then a trip to New York City, and it did everything I could have wanted. First, you don’t have to turn a screw or adjust anything to switch from US to European voltage – it’s automatic. The attachments are magnetic and pop on and off with no effort, and they don’t fall off while you’re using it. The plug adapter slips into the velveteen bag along with the diffuser (I have very curly hair) and the nozzle for when I blow my hair straight with a brush. It has oodles of power for fast drying. The bag with dryer and attachments fits easily in a corner of my carryon suitcase. I’m even starting to use it at home instead of the my big, cumbersome hair dryer. Worth every penny!

I've been searching for a good travel hair dryer with diffuser attachment that is dual voltage. My dyson isn't dual voltage. One of the biggest issues I've had from prior purchases is the hair blower was way too hot, and there was no ability to set the temperature. This dryer allows for 4 heat settings, which is exactly what I have on my Dyson. The only thing I wish it had was a lower speed setting. It only has 2 settings: fast and super fast. Curly hair is best dried on a lower heat and lower speed setting. The dryer did a good job on my curls, with slightly more frizz than I get with the dyson as a result of a higher speed. But on the flip side, my hair was dried quicker. Another positive is the diffuser attachment is really good, similar to my Dyson attachment. The dryer is compact which saves space when travelling. The only thing I can't comment on is how it works abroad on 220V. Time will tell. But I'm still happy it overall and glad I don't have to pack my large Dyson anymore. I should note I don't think it's worth full price, I got the grey version at a more reasonable price.

So far, so good! It’s not noisy, has high heat and airflow, and the diffuser is larger than I expected. It’s a little heavier than I was expecting, but it is compact. The nozzle and diffuser attach by a strong magnet. It comes with a large carry bag, a separate international plug, and a built-in wrap for the cord. The hairdryer does not fold in half.

Very happy with this purchase. The dryer is lightweight and powerful, and not too loud when running. Multiple heat settings and a cool setting. Took on a 3-week trip to Europe and it worked great. Even when the hotel had a dryer I used this instead as it dried my hair so much better.

This is definitely a "wow" product. Can't believe how powerful it is in such a small package. Drys my hair in a minute (I have short hair) on the low speed. It has 2 speeds, and 3 heat settings and 1 cool setting. All adjustable through the button that changes colour to let you know what the setting is. Accessories are cool too. Wall hanger, diffuser, and concentrator, magnetically attach to the dryer. All in all a very modern, small and lightweight marvel.
