I've always had a soft spot for bats. We regularly see them flying over our garden in the evenings and I've often wished I could see one properly up close, so I was really looking forward to this arriving. I honestly wasn't expecting the specimen to be this good for the price. The resin on mine is beautifully clear with no imperfections that I can see, and the bat has been positioned really nicely. What surprised me most was the fur. It still looks soft and natural rather than like something that's simply had resin poured over it. You can see so much detail in the wings too, right down to the incredibly tiny, delicate claws. It's a lovely little thing to sit and examine from different angles. The block feels solid and substantial at around 158g, sits perfectly flat whichever way I place it, and mine arrived in perfect condition. I was also pleasantly surprised by the little presentation box it came in, which makes it feel that bit more special. My one wish is that they'd included some information about the little fellow. There's no species name or information about where or how the bat was sourced. Especially for something sold as an educational specimen, I'd have loved to learn a little about the animal I'm actually looking at. He deserves more of an introduction than simply "bat"! That aside, I'm genuinely delighted with it. Being able to appreciate a bat this closely after years of watching them dart around above our garden is rather special. I'd happily buy another, particularly a larger specimen with the wings fully outstretched.

This is an immaculate piece of work! Never in my life thought I’ll see a bat, only in movies! This was a gift for someone who loves the movie Twilight and it fit the vampire theme, this can also go for Batman fans or just to have. Now I want to purchase one for myself! The way it’s masterly place and reserved in the resin is remarkable! You can see all the tiny details of this spectacular creature! It’s small and can be used in many ways. Add a light, a stand, place on shelf, paper weight or place by a window! Choices are endless! My boss now wants one for her grandson! Love it!
