Very pleasantly surprised by this dishwasher detergent.
We live in a rural town, no city sewer, so we are on septic. Our septic is OLD. So we kind of baby it, work hard to keep its bacteria going strong, especially since we are household of five. Shower, toilet, laundry, and dish water for 5 goes into our septic. I very, very rarely use chlorine bleach or any other type of antibacterial product that goes down a drain. I've been using Cascade pure essentials or free and clear tabs/pods, whatever is available because it's hard to find here for some reason, and a little cascade pure liquid in the extra cup. Having to soak the dishwasher ever couple weeks with vinegar to get rid of the detergent and mineral buildup from our water being so hard. The first time I bought this puracy because I couldn't find any reasonably priced cascade bleach free options. This was substantially less. I was less than impressed when it arrived with 5 pouches busted open inside the bag, and really didnt like the zip bag. I put the packs into my empty cascade tub and left the loose powder in the bag to use up. Figured I'd use it all up but prob wouldn't buy again. My mind was changing by about the 10th load when I realized I hadn't had to scrub the dispenser cup since I started using this stuff. And my dishes never had any weird grit or haze on them like I was accustomed to when the dishwasher needed cleaned every couple weeks. So went on washing without cleaning the dishwasher for another week, this time paying more attention. Much to my surprise the trail of scale coming from the dispenser was getting shorter and thinner. And then realized it was almost gone. And to boot, I haven't needed the little bit of extra liquid detergent in the little open cup, not even when things are really dirty. It all comes off, this dishwasher is cleaner now than it was a month after getting it new using cascade. There's no bleach, no fragrance, everything is clean and shiny, I dont use rinse aid bc it never made any difference with any detergent and our new dishwasher sure blasts thru it(it came with a small bottle so I used it, lasted like 3 washes, no more lol).Long story short, I will never willingly use another dishwasher detergent unless I move and find this isn't compatible with my new local water supply.I have also started using the laundry detergent and am equally impressed. I have three filthy dirt magnet children and a mechanic husband, I use washing soda to help detergent work better most of the time, but even when I forget, the puracy gets it all cleaner than Amazing Whip-It or All free and clear(the only other 2 detergents that dont make my husband or youngest rashy).

The best! Don’t hesitate
I swear it’s going to sound like they paid me to say this but they didnt. I have tried cascade, finish, lemi shine, up and up brand, and others I can’t remember the name of right now. I’ve tried liquid, pod, powder, and jell and this one by far the best. This is the only one that gets my dishes completely clean without leaving any residue behind. We eat a lot of hot pot in my house, if you don’t know it’s very greasy, even with pre rinsing they don’t get clean with the other brands. Now with this one I don’t need to pre-rinse and they get everything. Not one single glass or baby bottle that has any cloudiness or residue. They have no taste at all left on the dishes compared to their competitors. They have no scent ( at least the one I bought). They are so gentle that I use them on my baby’s bottles and they get just as clean as they would if I hand washed them. Even without pre-rinsing! They do not very based off batch and each batch is consistent unlike their competitors. They are so efficient and effective that I know I can put baby bottles and hot pot dishes in the dishwasher and it remove all the nasty stuff off them without leaving anything behind.

Does not work. Will not purchase again. (EDIT: My dishwasher was the broken one)
UPDATE:A few days after my review, our dishwasher broke completely. We found out that our old dishwasher was not working properly due to being so old and faulty parts that were not actually washing the dishes at all.We got a new dishwasher and the pods now work great, everything comes out clean. It was our dishwasher's issue - NOT the pods. Will purchase again, you probably need a rinse aid though if you have hard water.Did not clean well at all. I followed the instructions about not really rinsing the dishes before putting it in the dishwasher and the dishes came out of the dishwasher with so much food left I had to clean it by hand. The next time I used it I actually tried to rinse the dishes beforehand just to see if it would work better that there's less stuff on the plate and it really does not clean well. The dishes were dirty there were so many food particles left there were grease all over the plates and bowls the glasses seemed dirty not just there's drying stains or anything on that but it doesn't seem like the glasses were cleaned.I've been trying to find a non-toxic version for my dishwasher I used to use those conventional chemical ones and those kept the dishes clean this one really does not work does not compare so I'm going to try to a different non-toxic one.

The BEST fragrance-free option!
UPDATE (Jan. 2025):Still my favorite brand, hands down. No strange perfume residue on my dishes and they just work. I do use two on a heavy cycle for really dirty or baked-on loads, but using one on the normal cycle is fine for most loads.[Note: I recently tried a cheaper brand when these weren’t available. Ugh! I was horrified by how useless they were. Seriously. I thought something was wrong with my machine! I ran one regular load through three increasingly heavy cycles, rearranging the dishes and using two pods with the final heaviest cycle. I never did manage to get that load clean — until i ran a normal cycle with my one last Puracy pod. Phew! Haha]Also, I’ve begun using these at a home where the water is much, much harder than my previous place (more minerals, more alkalinity) and they still perform fantastically. Woohoo! As before, my biggest gripe with this product is the plastic pouch. Why? Completely unnecessary. Even my liquid laundry pods come in cardboard. It’s never been a problem. PLEASE, PURACY! Just switch to cardboard cartons or aluminum canisters.(HINT: When forced to make do with another brand, the 7thGen pods are the only others I’ve found to be similarly effective.)=======ORIGINAL REVIEW:Works very well compared with any other fragrance-free brand I’ve tried so far (several). No noticeable residue on dishes, no etching of glasses and silverware, and usually gets everything clean. Not cheap, but not the most expensive. I really wish it came in a larger, more economical size. Also, it would be so great if it was packaged in paper or cardboard or an aluminum tin—something without any plastic. It’s not a liquid, so other than keeping the pods dry, the plastic bag is not strictly necessary. The company should experiment with other options.Anyway. It is a good product.. The pod dosage is just right in that it allows for some flexibility. For lightly soiled loads and/or when the machine is full but only just, I use one pod. When the dishwasher is really jam-packed and/or the dishes are extra dirty, I’ve found it’s best to use two pods. That’s perfect in my book, much like deciding whether to pour regular detergent into just one of the dispenser cups or both. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯For the record, the water in my current place is neither soft nor particularly hard. You may get better or worse results if your water is dramatically different.

great product
These Puracy dishwasher pods have been a great addition to my kitchen routine. The pods dissolve easily and leave dishes clean, spot free, and without a greasy film, which has made a noticeable difference compared with some other detergents I’ve used. I also like that they’re natural and free and clear, so there’s no strong scent or harsh chemicals that linger on dishes or glassware. They felt gentle on everything I washed while still being tough on stuck-on food, and I didn’t notice any residue on plates or utensils after multiple cycles. The pods themselves are easy to pop in when I start a load, and they don’t stick together in the container. For the price this 18-count pack offers good value — you’re getting reliable cleaning power in a product that feels safer for everyday use and works well without fuss. Overall I’m pleased with these dishwasher pods and would buy them again.

White Residue - Buildup
I actually love Puracy HAND soap. I have been using it for years and will continue to use it. However, I switched our DISHWASHER DETERGENT to Puracy because other brands were leaving a soapy taste on our silicone kitchenware. While it was successful at cleaning without leaving a soapy taste on our kitchenware, it actually destroyed our dishwasher. Over time, the dishwasher developed a lot of white residue inside of it. First, there was a leak due to buildup not allowing the door the close properly and then our pump actually broke. The repair technician said he had never said a pump look like that before: full of that same buildup. Still love the hand soap but I am so upset from the dishwasher detergent.

Finally Switched from the Leading Brand – Exceeded All Expectations!
This was my first time stepping outside the comfort zone of using the leading brand dishwashing pods, and I am so glad that I took the plunge! These Puracy Free & Clear dishwasher packs absolutely do not disappoint. As someone who does not use anything scented in my home, I truly appreciate the "Free and Clear" formula—it gets things clean without any artificial perfumes or irritating chemicals, completely scent free. The 50 pods/50 washes per bag offer incredible value, too. The best part? It asks you NOT to pre-rinse or pre-soak for best results! It’s a huge time-saver. Just scrape, load, and go. I’ve experienced nothing but phenomenal, sparkling results that simply don't disappoint. Combined with a great resealable package that keeps the pods fresh, this is a top-tier product. Highly recommend taking the plunge!

Leaves lots of streaking; not as good as seventh generation
These work and the price is decent, but it leaves a lot of white streaking. Obviously, lots of dishwashers perform at different temperatures and speeds, etc. so there will be lots of different results. This review is based on my super basic bottom of the barrel dishwasher I installed myself; which for reference is a HotPoint dishwasher I purchased from Lowe's on sale for $300. By way of comparison, 7th Generation pods do not leave nearly zero white film or spotting or fogginess, and I have switched to Seventh Generation, whenever I can find it on sale. I've never had an issue with these pods, they clean well. Bottom line it works, but the trade-off is spots and white film, particularly noticeable on glass and the higher the quality glass the more the spotting. I got these because they were environmentally friendly and did not come with any scent. I can say that these pods clean and they do it odorless.

Doesn't leave your machine smell, it does what it says!
Love it! It's a bit on the expensive side but worth it.It cleans and doesn't leave that bad smell in the machine or dishes like other brands do.

Buy these
These are really good pods, they work just as good if not better than the cascade pods which used to get from Costco. We switched to these as they are 100x more safe than typical big brand dish pods. I’ve seen other reviews complain about broken pods but I have bought 3 bags and haven’t had a single broken pod so far!

Puracy Dishwasher Pods - Works Just As Good as The Major Brands. - Worth the Purchase.
I have been using this product, Puracy Dishwasher Pods, and it works great.Just as good as the store bought products.Yes, it is a bit more expensive than the store bought brands, but for me, that is fine since the package contains 50 tabs which means 50 week uses for me. I only need to use the dishwasher 1x per week. Others who have a family, will be using the dishwasher more frequently.I got this product because it is suppose to use natural detergents and I wanted to remove any toxic chemicals usually found in standard brands. I got it via Amazon because I cannot get this product locally.Amazon delivered it on time, no damage to the box.I suggest to get 2 of these packages of Puracy. I only bought one to see if it was worth it, and it is. So I am suggesting to get 2 of them.
