I ordered two of these in autumn 2025 and received the Buried Secrets 2 line rather than the pictured dance class line. For either line, there are tricks to tell which doll is in the box. For buried secrets 2, the color of the book corresponds to the doll inside - the most challenging one to discern is Clawdeen vs. Draculaura - if the pink looks purplish it’s Clawdeen. Draculaura’s book is a true pink. For the dance class line, buried secrets 3 (currently pictured), look at the top right corner to see which doll is inside. Purple is Clawdeen, pink is Lagoona, gold for Cleo, and Twyla is purple and blue. Blind boxes can be infuriating. Rather than return, I sold mine on after identifying it and bought the doll I had wanted new in box on another site. This way I was able to help another collector and also able to get the exact doll I wanted. The dolls themselves are indeed impressive as they come with lovely accessories. Hair and articulation are budget-level but honestly they are not “that bad”. I think these dolls are worth £15 max unless you’re a collector seeking completion or budget isn’t a concern and it’s truly just for a fun indulgence. I own Draculaura and Toralei from Buried Secrets 2. They have the same outfit really. I also own Lagoona from Buried Secrets 3. I think she is fantastic and the packaging on both series are fun and enhance the enjoyment and further the theming. If I could change something about the product, it would be to get rid of the blind box element and to differentiate the characters’ outfits. But it is a good product overall - just understand this is a blind box and budget level mostly unarticulated doll (only wrist articulation).

Received wave 3 lagoona. on the front of box it gives a clue which doll is inside, blue bow on the front where it says mystery doll means lagoona :)

This was a gamble and I'm glad I managed to get Clawdeen. Unfortunately the dolls are not articulated which is frustrating given the price. The outfits and accessories are cute, but I'm not sure if I would buy another. My hybrid looks very cute now, so I'm happy enough with my purchase.

Mattel needs to stop with the blind boxes 🛑 When you buy online there is no way to check symbols/ hints. These dolls cost $29 (!) but are terrible quality with no elbow or knee articulation and the absolute cheapest / worst doll hair on the market: polypropylene. This hair will not stand the test of time or play. 🚮 MATTEL and AMAZON: If I buy a product I want to be able to choose the product. I want to choose the series I’m getting and the character I want. PARENTS, if you want to *surprise* your kids (instead of letting them choose) — try wrapping the product in pretty wrapping paper and hiding it somewhere fun! 🎁 I imagine you care about the environment, since your kids’ future is on this planet. I also assume that you don’t want to encourage a gambling habit in your kids, or the wasteful habit of tossing new toys in the trash. 🌎 🎰 🗑️ It’s such a shame because the doll faces themselves and the color schemes are super sweet ❤️ but Mattel decided to give them crap bodies, crap clothes, and crap hair :((( What upsets me the most is not being able to pick the doll I want to buy! This isn’t some cheap mini figure or trading card. This is a doll that costs a lot money of money in Europe — especially considering their low quality (Barbie fashionistas level or less) 👛 Returns take a toll on the environment and are stressful for the consumer. Gambling and getting an undesired product is frustrating for everyone and bad for the environment when people toss it. 👎 Ironically it’s unwise from a business perspective as well — for the brand IP and long term profit: (Due to the unusual faces and hair colors) I wanted one doll from each line! That’s 4 dolls to date. Instead, since I had no choice which series or character I got, I only bought 1. ONE. And it’s the last one I’ll be buying. I had to return 4 dolls to get it! NOT doing that again. The doll I got has UNEVEN LEGS, so can’t stand. She also had a chunk of hair coming out of her neck. All this for *only* $29. Never again ❌ Please do better Mattel and Amazon! I love Monster High - but this is total BS.🪰
