My son nearly drowned using this for the first time. Product description was vague on sizing. He is 4 foot 11 and 12 years old so I wasn't sure what size to get him. Technically he can be in an adult size but safely should have been in a child's size. Fin is heavier in the water and it dragged him down when he tried to stand up in the water. He learned through trial and error that the best way to stand up on a shallow pool floor is to lay flat on your back to cause the fin to float up and then stand up. After that, he just had fun with the adult one instead of the child one. Easy to put on. One tip: lube your feet to make it easier to slip on. I learned that from a show called Merpeople. Good tip.
