I have been looking for a nicer office chair for some time. I had looked at the big box office supply stores (and other places as well), and was not able to find a chair that was both comfortable and well built. I was also unwilling to spend $3k on a Herman Miller office chair. Enter the SOHO Mid Century Modern Soft Pad Management chair. A virtual replica of the Eames Soft Pad chair at almost 1/10 the price? This HAD to be too good to be true. The quality and comfort can’t be there, right? WRONG. This chair is VERY well built. No wobbles, no odd noises, no bad smell or off-gassing. The design is true to the Eames chair (except for the tension for the recline, which I think is better on the SOHO). The seating surface is suspended between two solid frame rails; even if the padding breaks down over time you won’t find yourself sitting on hard plastic, but rather suspended on a hammock of sturdy cloth that still gives and supports. The chair came very well packaged, and was easy to assemble. Out of curiosity, I called the technical support line to see if the arms were required for structural integrity; according to the customer representative I spoke with, they aren’t. I installed them anyway, but good to know it is optional. Speaking of their support staff - I actually reached a HUMAN BEING; no menus or IVRs. Literally called a number and got a person. The support staff is super nice as well. Overall I have zero regrets purchasing this chair. It is better than any office chairs in the box stores that I sat in that were the same price point, and the comfort and style is on-par with the Eames chair that it payed homage to. One note - comfort is a very personal and subjective matter; this chair may not work for everyone (much like any other chair). For me, I decided it was worth trying out sight unseen (or un-sat) - I do NOT regret it whatsoever. Thanks to the folks at Laura Davidson furniture for a great product at a good price!

I searched for a chair that would match my stylistic sensibility, while having a solid build. I think I've found it. Shipment and assembly: The package was shipped with excellent protection of the various parts. I was confident that there would be no scratches or dents based on how they covered and protected everything. All tools required for assembly are included and the process is a breeze. The only thing they seemed to skimp on was the quality of the connecting pieces for the armrests to the rest of the chair... they are essentially plastic, spray painted to look like chrome. Build quality: I was pleasantly surprised at how heavy and sturdy the build is on the chair. The chair rolls smoothly and with gravitas along my hardwood floors. It's very even and does not make any squeaking noises. The arms are a bit lower as expressed by the other reviews, but I actually like it a bit low so that even with the arms assembled, it can be tucked away underneath my desk. Style and functionality: I think this is a beautiful chair. I am so pleased everytime I look at it. The leather is nice and the color is perfect. It gives you the look of the eames style, without the exorbitant cost. But it doesn't feel like a cheaply made knock-off either. There are three settings... one that gives you the ability to rock back and forth (with locking capability), a dial that reduces how easily you can rock, and the basic seat height adjuster. I've been using it for about a week now and still really love it. If anything goes wrong... or continues to go right, I will update my review.

So I had been really struggling to find a chair that I thought would be comfortable and stylish at the same time. When the pandemic started we didn't have a home office set up. I was working at my kitchen table thinking "in a few weeks this will all be over." 6+ weeks later I knew we had to set up a real home office. My back and butt were killing me! Hot tip: kitchen chairs not meant for 8+ hours of sitting. Looks: I've always loved the look of the Herman Miller Eames Soft Pad chair. But that chair is $3500 dollars. That's not a typo. This is a very similar looking chair but a fraction of the cost. I got the brown and it fits perfectly with our decor. Comfort: I've sat in this chair for 8+ hours M-F for a few weeks easily. My back and butt havne't been sore since I got this chair. That being said: It's not as comfortable as one of those giant plush chairs (but those are soooooo ugly) and I have wide hips so the handles cut into my outer thighs a little. Not enough for me to stop sitting in the chair but thought anyone else with curves might want to be aware of. All in all i'd recommend this chair!!!

Such a comfortable chair for long work sessions, with a great design. It looks even better in person. Had a minor issue that they resolved quickly. They support their products and their customer service was very responsive, some of the best I've seen on Amazon. Can not recommend enough.

My small business was in need of upgrading from hand-me-down and big box retail chairs and while searching the inter-webs I stumbled upon this gem. I was skeptical because generally speaking stylish chairs aren't comfortable and comfortable chairs aren't stylish. I thought I'd take a gamble and order one chair to test out myself and the rest of the staff before I committed to a large order. Turns out, I didn't need to test it. The chair arrived much sooner than expected. The company's email states it could be up to a week before I received it, however it was delivered in 3 business days. (score!) Additionally, it was packaged well but not over packaged. It was super simple to put together (3 pieces) and required no tools. Don't let assembly be a hurtle for you if your looking to purchase. From the time I opened the box to it being ready to sit in was less than 2 minutes. (no crazy IKEA assembly line !!) Finally, the quality of the chair surpassed my original expectations by a long shot. The components feel like a $500+ chair from a boutique store. The locking/unlocking mechanism is smooth and crisp. The lift and lowering mechanism is smooth and doesn't start or stop suddenly (like it does with cheap chairs). The leather material firm and sleek (added bonus, doesn't show finger prints) I don't normally write reviews, but had to pay this one forward. Excellent purchase. If you are apart of a growing business and have a need for quality and stylish chairs, Laura Davidson should be on your short list. Bang! you've found it!

Wanted a replacement for my Eames soft pad chair — could not match the color I wanted so took a complete gamble on this. This is a good looking, comfortable chair — incredible value for the price. I also like that this chair doesn’t have the metal bar running across the back (that the Eames chair has) so I actually think this chair looks less clunky and more elegant than the Eames chair. Also I had a question and the customer service got back immediately. As other reviews mentioned, amazingly, you are put in touch with a real person who is very helpful and follows up.

This serves as the main chair in my home office. The main drawback is that the arm rests are not tall enough for my arms to reach them when sitting normally. I have to slouch down to use the rests. Other than that, the cushion is soft on your back and bottom. It is wide and there is room to adjust your sitting position. The reclining is smooth and sturdy. I really like the chair and I am glad I purchased it. Note: The polishing of the arm rests does not match the rest of the chair's frame. You can see it is a little 'dulled'. I would expect a better polish at this price range.

First off awesome service from Vendor re: shipping exceeded expectation. Ordered on 2/29/24 received 3/1/24. Assembly was easy peasy. Chair fits me perfectly. I am 5’4”. Supports lower back and shoulders. I did not want a chair back that hits my head. Easy to adjust height. I read other reviews before purchasing and they were right on. I had been hunting for a chair for quite a while and very happy with my purchase. I have sat comfortably for 2 hours without any problem.
