Awesome portable screen. Great customer support.
This monitor is incredible value. I was a bit skeptical that it could have all the features it has for such a low price. But when I received it everything worked as expected. I use a Macbook Air 2020 M1 for work. I frequently travel and have to work from various locations. Because the screen on my Macboook is small, I thought a portable screen would be perfect to extend my screen real estate while working away from my home office. I love the 2k resolution because it creates more screen space for me to work on. On my Mac I did have to adjust the resolution (Displays -> Scaled) and select the toggle that's called something like, "Show all resolutions". Once I pressed that I was able to select the 2k resolution. With 2k, everything is pretty small (such as text), but it's easy to zoom in and adjust the windows / scale to the right size. Although apparently it's recommended to use the power cable separately while extending your screen, I was able to use the included USB-C to USB-C cable to power and display from my Macbook. Of course it drains your Macbook battery faster, but if your Macbook is plugged in, you should be able to simply connect the monitor into the laptop and not the wall. I'm not an expert or anything so I don't know if there are any downsides to this approach for things battery longevity, etc. But so far it's worked well for me. I also bought this screen to use to watch videos from my phone while traveling. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Initially I attempted to connect my phone and it didn't work. My device just acted like it was charging the monitor or being charged by the monitor. It didn't recognize the display. I contacted support and received a response within a day. I was recommended a cable that they promised to reimburse me for. I ordered it (HDMI to USB-C video cable) and with it, my phone recognized the monitor as a display but the monitor was still blank. After some troubleshooting, I found out the problem was with my phone, not the monitor. My phone's USB-C port is damaged so it only communicates power not video. I plugged my younger Brother's Galaxy S20 into the monitor and it worked immediately with both cables (the included USB-C to USB-C and the separately ordered HDMI to USB-C). I told this to support and they still offered to pay for the ordered cable. Today they reimbursed me as promised. I've never had customer service this good. Just a couple things on how the monitor works with a phone plugged in. First, if you have a phone similar to mine, you definitely have to plug the monitor into the wall as well. My brother's phone's power output definitely was not powerful enough to power the monitor. Even if it did, I'm sure the phone would be drained very quickly. Much to my surprise, my brother's Samsung phone got the full 2k resolution on the monitor when mirroring the phone (Galaxy S20). Amazing how powerful phones are nowadays. Another thing I was originally concerned about was whether the display would work with protected content, aka HDCP. If the monitor and cable do not support HDCP, you cannot watch most Netflix, Hulu, etc. shows when mirroring or extending. I tested this and using the included USB-C to USB-C and the later provided USB-C to HDMI video cable, I was able to view protected content on the display, so I assume it supports HDCP. Amazing! A quick note on other features. As other reviews have said, the speakers are not very good quality. But that's not at all what I bought it for. My Macbook's speakers are good and it's easy to connect headphones to the sources device. So I didn't care that they didn't sound good. Also, some have complained about the magnetic foldable case/mount. It's true that the magnet isn't super strong, but it mainly stays mounted fine on a stable surface. No problems for me here. Essentially, the monitor does what I wanted to do, and very gracefully. Very happy with my purchase and unbeatable value for the price. I'm looking forward to using this during travel.

Excellent Portable Second Monitor at a Very Affordable Price
This has been a great portable second monitor. The 15.6-inch size is large enough to be genuinely useful as an extra screen, but still compact enough to move around or travel with. The picture quality is one of the biggest positives for me. The color looks fabulous, and the screen is very easy to see, which makes it comfortable to use alongside my laptop. One thing to know is that my setup requires more than one cable. I use USB for power and HDMI for the display connection. I also had to purchase an adapter because my laptop has a micro HDMI port, while the cable included with the monitor has Mini HDMI on the monitor end and full-size HDMI on the other end. What makes this an especially good buy is the very affordable price. For anyone who needs a second monitor but does not want to spend a lot, this makes adding another screen much more accessible. Once everything was connected, it worked very well. Between the excellent color, useful size, portability, and price.

The Best Portable 3K OLED
Great monitor overall—excellent colors, perfect blacks, and a clean picture. The 2880x1800 resolution is a bit odd though. On weaker machines, it doesn’t scale cleanly down to 1200p like 4K does to 1080p. If you need to ease the load, keep it at native resolution and use DLSS or FSR (Performance mode) instead of lowering the resolution. Running it at 1200p still looks fine, just a little soft. For regular desktop use or word processing, it works great. Thanks to OLED's per-pixel lighting, it's nice to drop the brightness or use a warmer background color at night and not have a glaring backlight keeping you up. The brightness indoors goes beyond what I'd suspect most people would need. I keep my screen between 30–50% brightness; 100% exceeds my needs. I’m running mine through my laptop’s DP-Alt USB-C port. It pulls more power than a 1080p IPS at higher brightness, but nothing extreme. It comes with an adapter and cables, though I use a 45W USB-C charger I already had with no issues. Just check your port speeds; mine only does 10Gbps, which limits it to 2880x1800 @ 100Hz instead of the rated 120Hz. That’s a laptop bottleneck, not the monitor’s fault. Compared to a 144Hz 1080p IPS, the trade-off is worth it. Picture quality and contrast crush it. I’d still prefer 16:9 over 16:10, but this one’s been great otherwise. The speakers are better than most in this range, the design feels more solid, and the glossy screen is easy to clean. It’s reasonably light, durable, and well-priced for what you get.

Fantastic little 4K spotlight of a monitor!
For just under $200 I'm genuinely blown away by this little dynamo! I haven't had any experience with Newsoul as a brand before so didn't know 100% what to expect, but their generic packaging and cables that I saw in other reviews looked basically identical to what I've gotten with my trusty UPerfect portable monitors in the past so I presume it's likely made by the same OEM. I picked this little fella up to mount on a two-arm monitor mount as the pole of the mount wasn't tall enough to mount another larger monitor without moving the main display out of the range I wanted it in, so this smaller display was perfect for fitting the available space, and the high resolution is perfect for maximizing what I can get out of the space. Impressively little backlight bleed from it, and the resolution is so high the cursor was practically microscopic before I switched it to a 200% scaling, and it's super crisp and clean. The 1200 nits rating is no joke--this thing is a spotlight and I actually had to turn down the brightness a bit for use in my relatively dim home office. It was perfectly fine image quality-wise at max brightness, but it was like the force of a thousand suns beaming straight into my retinas so for indoor use turning it down was just easier on my eyes. The process of managing the settings itself is nice and easy with the side slider. Default color balance is pretty close to spot on by default though I'll be doing some very minor tuning to it to get it dialed in to my very picky personal preferences as I have perfect color acuity--it's better than the out-of-box balance was on my larger Asus display! The entire backside of the monitor is a nice flat plane which makes mounting VESA compatible arms or stands straightforward and easy, unlike some step-backed ones that I've had which only allowed for two mounting holes. The overall build quality feels very solid for the dimensions and price point, and if not for already having a UPerfect that's been my road warrior for the past couple of years getting beaten to hell and back and still kicking (the rightmost display in the photos) I'd be fully confident in making this my travel monitor for when I bring my Switch 2 to my partner's house and we game together. All told, this is a LITERALLY brilliant little wonder of a display and I'm pleased as punch with it in every respect, most especially in terms of its versatile features and VALUE. You really do get your money's worth out of it, and I'll be giving Newsoul's offerings a serious look next time I'm in the market for a small but good quality display. Great work, guys!

Impressive for $40.00. You need not spend more as this is awesome
Its kinda crazy you can get this for 40 bucks. So far so good. Came with a mini hdmi to hdmi and usbc power cable. Connects right away when plugged in. Is bright enough to match my other monitors. I use this vertically next to my top and bottom setup. Im super happy with it. Just gotta get a small tablet mount to put it on. If it lasts its a crazy good deal. Thin and versatile. So-so stability with included kickstand mount that pops out the back. Works on my desktop PC and iPad. Vertical mounting helps with productivity. I don't game so can't really say if latency is an issue. Great for word and excel documents. Glad I didn't pay more for a different one as this is exactly what I was looking for. The screen is SUPER thin. Didn't plan on keeping it vertical but its great. Will report back on longevity. I was worried I should have ordered an 18.5" but its not worth paying double for a few inches. If your on the fence you should be. This is totally worth the money. I almost want to get another one. Not because I need it though.

Great portable monitor, and great customer support
Having bought a handful of portable monitors from Amazon, this definitely seems to be the best bang for buck, and one of the very few that have a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is very helpful and ideal as a secondary work monitor. The extra height compared to a 16:9, although minimal, does make it that much better. Picture quality: 5/5 Overall picture quality is very good. Given the screen size of 16", 2560x1600 makes content look really sharp and text appears clear and legible. Overall color accuracy is pretty good as well, although I would not be using this for any type of professional media editing. There's also basic picture adjustments available, such as brightness, contrast, backlight, etc, but I left them all at default. As far as brightness goes, this monitor can get fairly bright. In normal ambient room light, I keep the backlight turned to 10 (out of 50), and it is plenty bright already. In an office setting, I usually turn up backlight to around 30 or 40. And even though this is marketed as having HDR, this monitor does not get bright enough to take advantage of HDR. SDR is more than good enough with this monitor. Build quality: 4.5/5 The monitor itself is very light and thus makes it very portable. The folder/portfolio case that it comes with is handy as well. I would hesitate carrying this around by itself, as it doesn't look like it withstand much stress. If pair with a laptop to provide it more rigidity in bag, it should be fine. The VESA mount option is also very useful. Note: my first unit that I received was defective, as it kept flickering upon turning on. However, customer support was very helpful and exchanged a new unit for me within a few days. The new monitor is working perfectly. Price: 5/5 This monitor hits the sweet spot at ~$150, and between the 4 portable monitors I purchased on Amazon, it is probably the best quality monitor for the price. While there are slightly cheaper options, they're mostly lower resolution or smaller in size. And for the ones with similar specs, they're almost a full 50% more expensive for not much more features other than maybe higher frame rates. A lot of them are also not 16:10. Overall, I think this is a great monitor. Although I use it primarily for work, I would not hesitate to use it occasionally as a portable screen to watch some movies or play some games. I would highly recommend, and the customer support is great is well.

Genuinely Impressed
I don’t usually leave long reviews, but this monitor honestly surprised me in the best way. I picked it up because I needed something portable for work and travel, and I wasn’t expecting it to feel this close to a full desktop setup. The first thing that hit me was the brightness — 1200 nits is no joke. Even in a bright room or near a window, the screen stays clear, vibrant, and easy on the eyes. It actually made my laptop screen look dim by comparison. The 4K resolution is crisp and clean, and the colors look balanced without that over-saturated “fake” look some portable monitors have. The matte finish is a huge plus too; it cuts down reflections without making the image look dull. I’ve used it for everything — work, movies, even a bit of gaming — and it handled all of it smoothly. Setup was basically plug-and-play. USB‑C worked instantly with my laptop and phone, and HDMI was just as simple. The build is slimmer than I expected, but it still feels solid, not flimsy. The little stand it comes with is actually more stable than I thought it would be, and the VESA mount option is a nice touch if I ever want to put it on an arm. What I appreciate most is how practical it’s been. I’ve taken it to the office, used it in coffee shops, and even set it up in the car during a long trip. It’s one of those devices that quietly makes your life easier without demanding attention. You can see how it goes really well as a secondary monitor for note taking next to my main display. Overall, I’m genuinely impressed.

BUYER BEWARE.
UPDATE: after owning this monitor, I'm also experiencing the black flicker every few minutes. I've tried multiple cables (including the ones that came with it) as well as multiple power adapters (including the one that came with it). It changed nothing and my screen is still flickering. DO NOT BUY Honestly fantastic quality of a portable display. The picture looks fantastic, the resolution is great, and the refresh rate is perfect for gaming. I'm using it as a portable display for my Legion Go and it looks awesome. The power draw is a bit big, but you CAN drive it with a portable handheld, you just need to drop the brightness down a bit (I set mine to 70%). If you want it max brightness, you'll have to plug it into the wall most likely. I don't mind running it a little less than max if that means I can use it with just one cable out of the handheld to the display. I'm not sure about durability, as the display is glass, and the quality of glass isn't stated. I'm sure if you dropped it or hit the front of it, it would shatter so make sure you have some kind of protection for it during travel, and be a bit careful lugging it around. The HDR is also hit or miss, I just leave it off as it seems to produce an extremely oversaturated result, you can find video examples online. For the price it's worth it and actually mind boggling to get a portable 120hz OLED for around $250 bucks.

Great Display and Build Quality
I bought this monitor mainly to use it with Samsung Dex and for mirroring my laptop. Haven't had any connection problems. The very thin bezels and lightweight design make it easy to carry around. The 4K display is sharp and the colors look good. One thing that's really great about this monitor is how bright it gets. I usually keep it around 30-40% for indoor use. It's perfect for watching videos and reading text since everything looks crisp. The speakers are pretty weak but that's expected for something this thin. I just use headphones anyway so it's not a big deal to me. Would've been nice if they included a battery so you could use it without being tethered to a power source. If this thing also had touchscreen OLED 120hz display, it'd be the perfect portable monitor. Would like to see that on future Newsoul monitors. Customer support has also been really quick to respond with issues I had with the monitor. For the price point it's a solid choice compared to other portable monitors out there. Would recommend it.

Beautiful screen - using it for gaming on my laptop
I bought it to use as a second screen for my laptop, and it's working fine. Good screen quality and easy to carry! I connected it to my laptop for gaming purposes, but it can also be used for watching videos. Another good thing is that it has built-in speakers that you can use while gaming or watching and you can also turn-off/on the eye shield feature if you want. I did not see any kind of issues while using it but will continue to monitor it as time goes by. Lots of cables were included too. Overall, I am happy with it that I can use it for my computers or even on cellphones or tablets (depends on model).

Great Portable OLED Experience, with a few nuances
Great screen quality, with the added benefit of portability. You can't go wrong with OLED, however a few issues do exist with this product: The OSD settings reset when not plugged in, which is the most annoying bit, and then there is your usual OLED burn-in stress, and this does not come with any OLED care features built into it.
