Perfect Boba Drink Substitute!!
I absolutely LOVE boba. I want to say my #1 treat drink, but it’s so sugary and unhealthy I sadly started avoiding it. When I heard about this protein, I knew I just had to try it. I got taro flavor, and I love the clean ingredients (no sucralose or erythritol, no long BS of filler ingredients) and after trying it, I’m so happy to have found this. The taste was a little disturbing to me, but I know it’s the whey taste mixed with the taro powder. I gave my boyfriend a taste and he absolutely LOVES it. I gave some to my mom (who has a picky taste in food and doesn’t like the taste of protein powder) and she said it tastes amazing!! I think it’s just my taste buds that I taste the whey more, but that doesn’t mean I hate it. Yes it’s $50 for a bag, but if you drink a protein shake everyday, it’ll last for almost a month! I would definitely prefer to pay that price for high quality ingredients than a cheap protein powder that can mess up my brain, gut health, or overall health. I love that you only need 1 scoop for all 25g of protein! I love that I can enjoy boba again and I love that it helps reach my protein intake for the day! I’m buying another flavor, and I highly recommend for everybody to try!!

Great TARO milk tea
Hawaii girl who loves ube here… 😊 The backstory: I’ve been drinking protein for a few years now. Mostly just for nutrients honestly… I’m not a gym person, I don’t track macros, none of that. I just forget to eat sometimes (oops) and I know I’m not hitting enough protein during the day. So over the years I’ve basically been on a mission trying to find protein flavors that don’t taste like… protein. Or worse, like fake candy. I’m not into the usual chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla lineup. I’ve tried a bunch of the fruity clear ones (Isopure has been in my rotation for a while), plus some of the fun “dessert” ones like Dunkin’ inspired flavors and the Pebbles ones too. I just needed something that didn’t make me feel like I was drinking melted candy. The verdict: This one? This Boba Tea Protein in Taro Milk flavor has been my favorite so far. Is it the best ube/taro smoothie of your life? No. Does it taste exactly like boba from your favorite shop? Also no. Does it taste like taro milk though? YES. Very much yes. Will you like it? I honestly don’t know because taste is personal and people get very serious about their drinks 😂 For me, I don’t like overly sweet drinks. I actually don’t even get boba that often because it can be too sweet for me. This one is sweet, but not “cloying sweet,” if that makes sense. I mix it with about 18 oz of water (or soy milk if I’m feeling fancy) and ice, and it’s really good like that. It honestly reminds me of those little boxed Korean taro milk drinks. And that’s saying something. Bonus thought: The only protein I’ve had that beats this for me is their Viet coffee flavor. I’m not even exaggerating—I’ll pick that over my own coffee sometimes. And I say that as someone with a whole at-home barista setup 😅

Terrible taste, wish I could rate negative stars
So gross, I like many other flavors of boba tea protein but this one is disgusting. It tastes like white potatoes with a weird aftertaste, and unlike like any taro drink I've ever had. I read bad reviews about this flavor and thought I would give it a try anyways, but I regret spending my money on this. EDIT: brand reached out to offer me a refund but then didn't follow through on actually refunding me. I am even more disappointed than before. I liked some other flavors of Boba Tea Protein but won't be repurchasing anything from this brand. I am also not happy about learning that Boba Tea Protein's founder Neil Hong has been accused of bullying fitness influencer Lauren Pon. I have heard great things about the taste of FLVR and Far East Alchemy protein powders, I'm going to try those instead and recommend you do as well.

Delicious and Nutritious – Finally, a Guilt-Free Taro Boba Fix!
As a boba tea lover who also watches their macros, I was thrilled to find Boba Tea Protein’s Taro Milk—and it did not disappoint. This is hands-down one of the most delicious protein powders I’ve tried, and it actually tastes like real taro boba tea (without the insane sugar crash). First off, the flavor is spot on—smooth, creamy, and naturally sweet without being overpowering. It mixes easily in a shaker or blender, and the texture is silky, not chalky like many other whey isolates. I love that it’s made with grass-fed whey protein isolate, giving me 25g of clean protein per serving with no lactose, no gluten, and no soy—a huge plus for those of us with sensitivities. It also doesn’t upset my stomach, which is rare for a dairy-based protein. I often add tapioca pearls or boba jelly for a post-workout treat that feels indulgent but keeps me on track nutritionally. Even when mixed with just water or almond milk, it tastes amazing. With 25 servings per container, it’s a great value considering the high-quality ingredients and how enjoyable it is. Whether you’re looking for a protein powder that doesn’t taste like protein powder, or just want a healthier way to satisfy your boba cravings, this is an absolute must-try.

Bag is not resealable
Biggest issue: bag doesn’t reseal. It’s has some sort of reseal zipper that seems to be Velcro like, but it just doesn’t work. I even tried tapping all of the powder out of the zipper and still had no success. This is seriously annoying as it’s going to lead to spills and lost product. 2nd biggest issue: I think it’s too sweet, but it does taste like taro milk tea (at least the bag that I got), but if I was ordering my milk tea, this almost tastes like I asked for it with extra sweetener. All in all, it’s good and better than vanilla whey protein powder, but not sure if I’ll repurchase this flavor.

DELICIOUS!
I am currently on a cut while doing 75 hard, so I can’t drink boba because it’s wasted calories for me. However, I love boba and I’ve seen people rave about this brand on social media a lot, so I thought it was worth a try! I wanted to get the milk tea flavor, but it was sold out so I decided to try the Taro flavor. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was absolutely blown away by how robust the flavor is! I’ve tried actual taro boba that wouldn’t even stand a chance against this. I like how the brand focuses on clean and simple ingredients because I know a lot of protein powders can upset people’s stomach. I didn’t experience any issue with this. I also liked that the texture wasn’t super thick. I used the recommended amount of liquid with it, but I did half fat free milk and half water. I didn’t use a shaker bottle so there were some chunks that didn’t fully mix with the liquid, but this happens with other protein powders I’ve tried. For the price and the quality, I was surprised by how many servings I received too. Overall, I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to try their other flavors, such as the milk tea, matcha, and Thai tea!

Good, but overpriced
This protein powder is really good, it dissolves well and is very easy to drink, but the taro flavor is pretty light. It tastes more like vanilla to me than taro milk tea. It’s good, but not $40+ good, especially for only 19-25 servings per bag. The closure of the bag is also kind of difficult. I’ll finish it because I spent so much on it but I won’t repurchase.

The Flavor is WRONG
The powder dissolved really nicely in my opinion, just by shaking in a cup with a lid (I don't even have a protein shaker). The texture of the drink was smooth and nice, I didn't note any grittiness or chalkiness frankly. But the flavor? Not only is it not taro flavored, but I was picking up this savory, almost popcorn-like taste. Not good. I'm gonna see if i can cover it up with fruit or syrup or something because this was like $45, but ultimately I would NOT recommend.
