They came with markers for the white board portion which was already great.I didn't like the side flaps, they honestly just got in the way for both my kids (ages 5 and 3). It was also not as sturdy as I wanted them to be but that could have been because they didn't fit nicely on top of our kids laps in the car seat/booster (both Graco brand).They were easy to clean and looked nice though and storing them is easy because it folds up.
