Review: Very large jars for fermentation with handy venting mechanism. - I bought these to ferment some cucumbers and for the intended purpose they are absolutely great, but they are very big so storage could be a problem unless you're using them regularly. The tops come with both a breather to allow gasses to escape and once fermentation is complete, there's a cap to seal off the vent. Very pleased with these. Because the screw-cap is so wide, they are very easy to clean and to fill.

Used for making sauerkraut. Worked perfectly. It did fit around 5,5-6kg cabbage in on jar. Strong, thick glass. Looks great quality. Thinking of using for pickling gherkins too, doing the Hungarian sourdough pickling method. Also when doing Filipino atchara (shredded green papaya pickle). Came in a really secure packaging. Really satisfied with my purchase. Expensive, but well worth the money.
