Brilliant, thick glass, I be buying more

I bought these to ferment some cucumbers and for the intended purpose they are absolutely great, but they are very big so storage could be a problem unless you're using them regularly. The tops come with both a breather to allow gasses to escape and once fermentation is complete, there's a cap to seal off the vent. Very pleased with these. Because the screw-cap is so wide, they are very easy to clean and to fill.

Used for making sauerkraut. Worked perfectly. It did fit around 5,5-6kg cabbage in on jar. Strong, thick glass. Looks great quality. Thinking of using for pickling gherkins too, doing the Hungarian sourdough pickling method. Also when doing Filipino atchara (shredded green papaya pickle). Came in a really secure packaging. Really satisfied with my purchase. Expensive, but well worth the money.

Good jars with nice wide necks, excellent for making kimchi in one and mead in the other

Fantastic!! I recently purchased and took delivery of this pair set of fermentation jars. There were no issues whatsoever, and the jars were very adequately packaged. I have started making sourkraut and apple cider vinegar for a family of six grownups, and these jars are proving to be ideal for my current requirements. I initially started off with two 5 litre plastic buckets, but as I very much prefer glass or ceramic for edible items, I decided to sample these glass jars. Personally, for the modest thickness of the glass, this is the largest size of these jars that I would be comfortable with. For what it is, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and easily recommend it.

I’ve started preparing my own kimchi after being unimpressed with store bought variations and this has made the process relatively easy. The airlock is simple to use if you follow the instructions on the 5th official image on the products page. The seal feels solid and after testing the jar submerged I noticed no air escaping. The jar I have feels solid, although one of mine did arrive broken so I wouldn’t be heavy handed with them despite their size and weight. The measuring levels are useful and make preparing everything easier. In terms of value, I believe the RRP is very fair as the jugs are huge (each one stores 5700ml’s) and you get 2 in a pack (if all is OK!). Overall, I would be happy to recommend when both arrive OK.

These are very good for larger batch fermentation. The screw lid is better than a kilner rubber bung or wire clip. Very easy to clean and sturdy. I’m fermenting roughly 2kg of peppers in each one and it makes the process very easy.
