Great value Asian style chefs cleaver knife. It is a well balanced chefs cleaver. Comes very sharp out of the box with a blade cover sheath. It has a modern look as well. I enjoy the way cuts and that I can use it as a scoop for whatever I'm cutting. I used it enough that Ive sharpened it and its very easy to sharpen too.

I ordered this Paudin Chef's Knife because I wanted a new meat cleaver shaped knife to cut up primarily meats and secondarily vegetables. After washing it off, I used it on semi-frozen cuts of beef in the video here and it virtually glided through such effortlessly, evidencing the blade is extremely sharp (the beef in the video here was frozen for several days, I removed such from the freezer and had it thawing only for about 5-7 minutes at room temperature when I easily cut it with this knife. The exterior of such was thus softer while the interior of such was still frozen). The handle is smooth and very comfortable in the hand, but it would be a bit safer if the handle had some textured surface to enhance grip when wielding and using such. After the video here, I also used this knife to chop up vegetables and it did an amazing job with such, plus I used the wide flat body of this knife like a spatula to easily scoop up the vegetables and put them in a pan for cooking. It's a great knife, especially for cutting meat. For a meat cleaver style knife, prices can range between $10 dollars and $200 dollars, with quality, sharpness, and durability typically increasing with price. This knife has a good quality both in terms of the craftsmanship of the steel and handle, as well as the sharpness and thickness of the blade. For a meat cleaver style knife of this quality with a razor-sharp edge and comfortable handle, the current price for this (about $42 dollars at the time of this review) is a phenomenally good price. For all of these reasons, I have rated this knife as 5 stars. Anyone getting this should use extreme caution when handling and using such for safety reasons (and preferable the strongest cut proof gloves). It is super sharp.
