Focal CANERO Bluetooth Headset with Noise Cancelling

The Focal Bathys are great-sounding headphones — genuinely impressive, and even better once you EQ them to the Harman curve. The clarity and detail are excellent, making them a joy to listen to in the right environment. DAC mode is also fantastic. Connected via USB-C, the internal DAC delivers clean, powerful audio that easily rivals many wired setups. Contrary to what I initially thought, ANC does still function in DAC mode — it’s actually the Transparency Mode that gets disabled. Either way, the audio quality in this mode is stellar. Comfort-wise, I was able to wear them for hours. However, with my larger ears, I did start to feel pressure and aching at the top corners of the ear cups after extended use. They’re well-built and generally comfortable, but may not suit everyone’s ear shape. The biggest letdown is the ANC. On a plane, they simply didn’t block out enough noise to justify being called premium noise-cancelling headphones. For that, Bose and Sony still lead the pack by quite a margin. If you’re at home in a quiet setting, the Bathys are brilliant. But if you’re travelling or commuting and expecting best-in-class ANC, you’ll be disappointed. And if you’re not after ANC at all? There are plenty of audiophile headphones that will pancake these in terms of pure sound quality — often at a lower price. In the end, I returned them. The Bathys are excellent in many ways, but they’re marketed as ANC headphones — and on that front, they just don’t cut the mustard.

These are rated BEST for bluetooth sound and with good reason. I've had others from Sennheiser, B&W, Bose and the sound quality from Focal, is noticeable levels better. The mids are rich, bass is strong. The best part is the app comes with an audio compensation feature, to tune to your hearing. You can also use the EQ. The other unknown feature is that in wired mode, it has a built in DAC. This improves the sound another level better than bluetooth. If you value sound quality over ANC or all the other bells and whistles of the other wireless headset brands, then these are for you.

Suenan excelente! Claro, natural, detallado, encuentras la textura de los sonidos de cada instrumento. El poder ajustar y compensar por pérdida auditiva es algo muy bueno. Cons. Se escucha ruido blanco en todos los modos. Si quieres silencio total en un ambiente callado, se escucha el “hiss” y puede llegar a cansar, vicia una escucha a bajo volumen o si los quieres para solo descansar de algún ruido exterior, se tiene ese ruido sutil. El no poder cancelar el ANC. El cable usb c es muy básico. Si se cambia a uno blindado y de buena calidad , el modo DAC es una belleza y deleite. En general me encantaron.

The Focal Bathys are for people who wanna experience music at its fullest. They have a great soundstage with very good sound/instrument separation. The bass is perfect and not overly boosted or dark while the treble is more than adequate without it sounding like its ear splitting and the midrange is excellent. I listen to rap, r&b, edm and a bit of pop. These headphones shine in the above genres (dunno about other genres coz i dont listen to them). The Bathys are very sonically accomplished headphones which sound great right out of the box. For audiophiles who are looking for more there is a 5 band EQ that you can use to customize the frequencies further and make them sound even better. The changes in EQ get stored automatically in your bathys and remain even if you switch the bathys connection from your phone to your tv or something else. One thing i suggest everyone to do is to complete the hearing test in the focal app as that further tunes the bathys depending on your hearing to give you an even better experience. The ANC on these headphones is average at best and if ANC is your number 1 priority then look for something else. The headphones have good build and material quality. They have good clamping force without them being uncomfortable. I was able to watch a 2 hour movie without any discomfort however please note that these are heavy headphones so you will feel the bulk while wearing them. Im getting the claimed 30 hour battery life without any issue and its taking about 1 hour 15 mins to charge them to 100% level from 10% level. They also have a led indicator that flashes while charging and stops flashing after they are fully charged. If you prioritize sound quality and can afford these headphones then these are the headphones for you.
