Okay, so I am extremely lazy, and I can't even lie about it. I bought my quick boil kettle sometime around 2011. She has done me proud, and I am surprised that she is still going, especially since this is the first time I have descaled her. For the last year or so, I have had to use a tea strainer because the lumps of chalk coming out of my kettle resemble the White Cliffs of Dover. I'm embarrassed to say that for at least two years, I have worried about how loud my kettle was, considering it resembled an F-15 during takeoff. This evening, I finally got around to descaling my kettle after ordering this descaler yesterday. My neighbors probably hate me because my kettle has been running constantly for about the last 45 minutes. However, after listening to some very interesting bubbling and straining out enough chalk to make local schools consider going back to using a chalkboard, I can honestly say my kettle has never sounded better. This is absolutely down to the wonderful power of this descaler, and I 100% recommend it for anything limescale-related.

Judging by the film on top of the waste water it did its job. Ran two bottles through just to be on the safe side as it was its first clean. Pretty sure it worked very well.

Bought this to rescue my Gaggia Classic from a completely impotent budget descaler bought on Amazon. This stuff is ace, it clears out scaled up coffee machines with ease (physical bits of scale came out of it!) and the used fluid is still so potent it will descale your kettle in seconds (literally watched the limescale fizz away). The only criticism of it is that the small volumes used don't really work for a larger water tank (hose fed machine struggling to suck it up), so I had to use double the amount. That might have doubled the cost but I reckon it's worth the money. The instructions are only in French or German but nothing Google Translate and high school French couldn't handle! I won't be bothering with the other budget options any more. I'd recommend wearing gloves with this though if it does that to limescale wouldn't like to know what it does to your skin!
