This is really nice. Very well made. Easy to grab some paper towels with one hand. Does not fall over. Looks nice too. Not much more to say.

This is an excellent item that I highly recommend to anyone who needs an item of its kind. It’s very nice looking, stays in place, and the paper towels are so easily removed, which is exactly what I was looking for! This is a great find!

This works exactly as described. I can easily tear a sheet. It holds the roll steady and keeps the sheets from flying all over the place. I read some reviews where people mentioned you have to get the hang of tearing a sheet. That hasn't been my experience at all. I just dropped the roll on and immediately started tearing the sheets off. I don't have to do anything except pull and tear. I am so happy I bought this. I was so tired of my old one. This has already saved me from so much frustration. It's great!

Ordered this model after looking at the other reviews that complained about cheap quality. This one cost more but the quality is good. It is sturdy, looks good on the counter and you can grab one sheet with one hand. Just what we needed!

I own quite a few items from OXO. They're awesome. Well made, smooth operating, sharp looking. If there's any drawback, it's that they tend to be a bit pricey. That's what initially gave me pause on this item. The idea of paying $20-25 for a paper towel holder seems kinda nuts. But, after months of aggravation with my select-a-sheet rolls on a standard dispenser, I pulled the trigger (pressed the button?). Normally, I like to give 5-star reviews. I'm happy to say most of the products I've bought through Amazon deserve them. This holder is cool looking and has a neat operation, but it doesn't quite hit the 5-star meter. Let's discuss. First and foremost, It's OXO, which means it has those qualities I mention above. It's finely made, looks great and mostly works well. It's the mostly that loses that final star. Like some other commenters on this item, I found you have to build a "technique" to work the one-handed tear effortlessly. If you don't mind a little effort, that's fine, but I agree with others who say that for $25, it should work seamlessly (no pun intended). I ripped about 15 sheets off for testing various styles. A simple pull may lead to more than one sheet (you can tighten the tension on the spring arm, but then you could just topple your holder. A light pull works best for the select-a-size sheets, but then the next sheet is barely past the spring arm, meaning you either have to use two hands or be especially talented pulling from the top edge of the sheet. I haven't tried this while fully occupied (say, in the middle of cutting vegetables or cleaning dishes), but I am interested in seeing how that less careful pull handles the one-handed solution. Overall, I do like the product as it significantly reduces the multiple spinny sheet pulls from a standard resistance holder, but it's still got some issues with the select-a-size that the OXO brain crew could work together to solve. By the way, it's absolutely perfect for full sheets, so if you use those, then there's that. Good product, just short of great. But I would have preferred (and kind of expected) great for $25

This is a great paper towel holder. It really does hold the paper for you to make it easier to rip off a sheet or two of paper towels. I was really surprised at how convenient it is. I would definitely buy it again if something happened to it because I really love how easy it is to use. Also you tend to need a paper towel when your hands are full and this just makes that process ten times easier. I can’t believe I just purchased this recently. I certainly would have loved to have it years ago.

A little pricey. However, it is well weighted. You have to pull the sheet so the perforation is just past the arm and then you give it a good snap. Being gingerly means you will tear the paper towel in the wrong place. I had to teach my wife how to snap this. Now she likes this thing.

Have been using this for several weeks in an attempt to prevent my family from continually using every clean dish towel I own ... which generates more laundry ... So now I'm keeping the paper towels accessible. This is extremely sturdy, has never tipped, great stainless steel color, holds the towels in place so they are not flopping all around, PLUS, you can easily pull a towel off one handed. I was worried it would tip based on some reviews, but that has not happened (and I suppose if it did, I'd throw a few suction cups on the bottom). Definitely a fan!

There is a definite knack for using this I found it quite easy my other holder was far more heavier and easier to use though I only replaced it as it was looking tired , if I can find a way of increasing the actual base weight this item would be near perfect, maybe some injected resin if only the manufacturer would do this , I shall try a fix other than that I can recommend this product.

I bought this holder 4 years ago and it’s still works (and looks) like new, and is one of my favourite things in kitchen, so I thought I would write a review on it. I originally was quite skeptical about this given the price as I had one of those cheap wire paper towel holders before which “did the job” - but this blew that out of the water - it’s a whole new experience that makes life easier! The tension arm (which compresses inwards to adjust for the remaining amount of roll) puts the perfect amount of pressure on the roll to keep it in place but also allows you to quickly and easily tear off as many sheets as you’d like with one hand. As I usually need paper towels to clean an unexpected mess or while in the middle of cooking, this is key! It is also extremely stable - even pulling paper towels with a bit of force, the holder won’t lean or tip over. There is also flexible wire bands at the top and bottom of the holder that keep the paper towel in place so it’s not wobbly when you are pulling from it and also prevents too much paper towel from being dispensed with a pull (no “runaway rolls”). Looking back at my old wire paper towel holder, I realized how much hassle using that was over time given how often I used paper towels. I’ll never go back! This is a must-have for the kitchen and I guarantee it will win you over the first day of using it!
