Second year review update, and it's still working great.
I paid $33.59 for this item on 10/23/23 and I’ve since increased my initial rating from 4 to 5 stars. Quick review ratings Quality: 4.5 out of 5 stars Effectiveness: 4.9 Value: 5.0 Satisfaction: 4.9 Short review highlights: I like how this blanket came tightly sealed in an airtight vacuum-packed clear plastic bag, assuring product integrity of first use from the factory. I like how this blanket is very soft and plush and feels really nice to the touch. I like how it’s constructed to be warm and is warm just as a regular blanket without any power at all. I like how the controls are simple/effective and how the 3hr default timer is set intuitive for most use I like how the highest heat setting seems sufficient even when really cold, and that it heats up fast helping to better thaw out my feet that can get cold as ice. I like how being a shorter throw model doesn’t take away from it’s effectiveness and that its smaller size even helps make it easier to manage. I like how upon ordering that the manufacturer emailed me guidelines for safe use/operation I like how other than the big plastic sticker they put on it that there’s very little that I don’t like. Long review details Although this blanket is very soft and plush, it’s thin enough that you can still easily mold it to follow your shape. But with it’s construction being on the thin side, you are reminded that it is indeed an electric blanket because you can feel the heating cables within it's build which start their inlaid pattern at about 10 inches inward from the outer most edge/border, but I haven’t found the feel of them to be at all off-putting either. I didn’t like that some spots seemed to heat up more than others but over all that’s also pretty minor and that most importantly it does warm up quickly. I also didn’t like that the handheld controller itself tends to heat up a bit when on the higher settings adding some worry to its safety but I’ve been using it for over a year now and haven’t had issues otherwise; and, I found you don’t have to keep it on high for very long, just to warm up quickly before setting it lower. For more precaution I initially got in the habit of hanging my controller from a hook hung off my bed side dresser drawer which helps give it adequate space to "hang out and be cool" and that does seem to help it dissipate heat better; but I also often use it while on the couch with the controller right on top of me or with it sometimes ending up off to the side or even under me, but still haven’t had any issues. This is the throw size model and I like that its smaller in terms of size management because while I'm also using other regular blankets with this (only when its really cold, and when I might lay one blanket on top of this one to better hold the heat in) on my lower half to add more heat where it’s needed most for my legs and especially my feet that can often get cold as ice, and this really helps with that. I do often use it on the couch but either way I always use it with a flannel sheet which not only works well for adding extra warmth but better helps to distribute the heat and has also been very effective in keeping it cleaner longer and so effective that I haven't had to wash it yet. This is surely not a perfect product, nor at this price point is it made of the highest standard or quality in comparison to models more expensive, but despite that its issues have been minor, and it’s been working really well for me over what's been now its second cold season or second year and it’s still keeping me warm at night. Will update if any of this changes, but again, it's going into its second year of daily use (when it’s cold), and I can recommend it with a full five stars.

Great blanket
If there were 6 stars for this, I would give it that. This is my third purchase, not because it stopped working, but because I have one on the couch, a twin size in the bed and I purchased this third one for a family member. The throw blanket gets plenty warm and is the perfect size for the couch and it is really soft. I would be careful using it though because once it gets all toasty you might take an immediate nap due to how comfortable you get. My only complaint is the cord is slightly hard to disconnect from the blanket the first several times it definitely required some wiggling and willpower.

Good quality and performance, comfy warm blanket
My comfy blanket keeps me toasty warm just on level 1 or 2. I use it while in my recliner watching TV. The blanket is large enough to cover my body and my feet. The fabric is soft and fluffy. I've washed it once and it turned out perfectly. There was minimal fuzz in the lint trap for such a fluffy fabric. The deep red color didn't bleed into the white side at all. The cord is long enough to reach to the plug without having to tug it. The heat is on quickly and stays an even temperature. I'm pleased with the quality and performance.

A good, simple, reliable heated blanket.
I've had two of these, the oldest about a year old. Really good! Simple, reliable and soft. LED is too bright. Otherwise perfect.

Good electric blanket, limited programming
We did a lot of research here on Amazon looking for the perfect electric blanket for us. This one seemed like it would offer the most of what we wanted and for the most part it does. The blanket is the perfect size and weight (more on that in a bit), and super soft. We also love the 'ribbed' look on the blanket, something that set it apart from most others we viewed. We also wanted a blanket that we could program and this one seemed like it would do what we wanted and it does with one glaring omission - more on that farther down. Back to the weight - the blanket is 'heavy enough' to be a good blanket when the power is off. It's not too heavy and it's not too light. When looking at blankets on Amazon make sure you scroll down to the middle of the page and check out the banket weight. This will tell you how thick it is and is also usually reflected in the price. Thicker=more $, thinner=less $ in price. We live in New Hampshire so we need a heavier blanket for the wintertime. If you live in warmer climates than a thinner blanket might work for you but then again you probably don't need an electric blanket right? The blanket came well packaged and boxed, vacuum packed in a bag. Right out of the packaging the blanket is super soft and would be wonderful right up against the skin. We use top and bottom sheets so there is a sheet between us. The top material is also 'grippy' which good as it keeps the top, mostly decorative and lightweight quilt from sliding off the electric blanket onto the floor when I toss and turn. We bought the queen size and it's the perfect size, hanging off the sides and bottom about 12". Make sure you check actual dimensions. I've seen ads on Amazon for 'queen size' blankets that were actually twin size. Queen size should be around 90x90". Onto the controller and wiring. The wiring from the plug at the bottom of the blanket to the controller is barely long enough. If you're running straight back along the sides it's likely fine but if you're 'routing' the wires through even a little bit of things under the bed (like an adjustable bed frame) and up behind the headboard then it could use another foot or two. But it still was long enough to make it to my bed nightstand. Next is the controller itself. It's big and 'bulbous', taking up a lot of room on the nightstand. But it also seemed to have the most buttons and programming options compared to the other front runner we were considering which had a controller that was much more attractive and sleek. The queen size controller (different from smaller sized blankets) defaults to Lo (heat) and 08 (hours) of runtime when powered on. There is a PH (preheat) button, a Set (programming) button and plus and minus buttons. Once powered on you can press the preheat button or set the temperature and/or auto-off time. The temp settings are 1 through 10 (with 1 showing as Lo and 10 showing as Hi). The auto-off hours are 1 through 10. I had assumed (hoped, I guess) that when you set a temperature and auto-off time that the controller would 'save' this information or at the very least default to that when you turn the blanket back on. It does not. It defaults to Lo heat and 08 hours auto off regardless of what you set. This means that if you have a preferred setting other than Lo heat and 8 hours auto off, you'll need to program that in every single time you turn it on. This seems like an easy omission to fix and the other blanket we were considering automatically defaulted to whatever setting was on when the blanket was shut off. Now, onto blanket operation. The blanket heats up to full in about 30 minutes on preheat. Preheat is nothing more than Hi (10) in temperature. I tested this by turning on the preheat and testing the feel at both 30 and 60 minutes. No difference. Then I tested the blanket in 30 minute intervals at Lo, 5 and Hi heat settings. Lo you can barely feel anything, 5 just a bit more and Hi is the exact same feeling as the PH preheat setting. One thing about electric blankets is don't expect to climb into a bed preheated to full and find a super warm feeling, like when you throw a blanket or sheet straight from the clothes dryer onto yourself. (Update - more on this at the bottom!) It's more of a warm-ish feeling. But once you get in and lay there for a bit you will quickly heat up and find the higher settings much too hot. After a few nights testing the blanket out in a very cool room with outside temps down in the low 30s I find that preheating the bed for a half hour then getting in is comfy and then shutting the controller off and then back on which sets the temp back to low. Then I set the auto off to an hour or two so it shuts off after I fall asleep. Then in the middle of the night if I wake up and it's cool I just turn it on (defaults to Lo) and go back to sleep. The last thing about the controller besides the size and limited programming is the LED lights, which are big and VERY bright. There is no auto-off or dimming of the display so it's like having a nightlight in the room. If I turn it back on after I fall asleep it lights up the room. The only fix is to turn it upside down to block the light. Fortunately the display is flat like the bottom so it completely blocks the light as long as you have a flat surface. But I would think that having an auto-dim feature for the display would be an easy and needed thing on these controllers. Overall we like the blanket and will keep it. I've knocked down the rating to four stars for the few things mentioned above. Update: After a few more nights of use, we have discovered a couple things. First, you can achieve that wonderful 'straight from the dryer' warmth when you first get in. When you turn the blanket on to PH (preheat), place something a little heavy on the top of the heating blanket like another heavy blanket. We take a couple heavy blankets and fold them up so they are covering the whole length of the two 'heating element' locations. Then let the blanket preheat for at least an hour, preferably two. If you do that then getting into the bed is VERY warm and feels SO good when the room is cold! (Note that we do remove the extra blankets when we get in.) The other thing I found out that is that if you change the time when you go to bed, lowering it from the default 8 hours to a shorter time period so it shuts off after you fall asleep, it takes into account any amount of time the blanket as already been running. So for instance if you preheat for two hours on the default 08 hour setting then upon going to bed change the time to a shorter time of say 3 hours, the blanket will shut off in only 1 hour since it has already been running for 2 hours. A work around for this that I use is when I get into bed I just shut the blanket off and turn it back on. This then changes the temperature to the default of Lo and time to 8 hours which I then change to my preferred duration of 2 hours and the blanket will run for the full 2 hours.

Wow! Love it!
The blanket is comfortable even without the heat! Fleece-like on the inside and plush on the outside, with just the right amount of thickness. Independent controls are great. Level 2 is as warm as I'll go if I'm really cold, but my wife will use 3 or 4. The ability to set the time duration for both the on and preheat settings are a plus. The design is very good - plenty of wires and even heat. Haven't tried washing it yet. Highly recommended so far. .

Great price and works well!
Nice well made electric blanket. It fit my Cal-King easily and lots of wires in the blanket to spread out the heat, Nice looking blanket and thicker than the one I had,. The only problems I noticed are the LED light stays lit when it is on so it lights up the bedroom. Also it defaults to LOW temp so you have to set the temperature to 1-10 if needed. If you want to turn up the heat in the middle of the night you need a flashlight to find the button. It produces a nice even heat. I buy a new one after 10 years for safety reasons. No smell to the blanket so did not wash it.

Heats up well!
My wife loves it, she hasn’t even tried it on high and says it warm enough. She especially likes the plush softness of it. Well worth the money, very glad I bought it for her!

I loved it and so does my cat, but fabric quality is poor and doesn't hold up over time.
Edit a few months later, this blanket is piling on the fuzzy side and snagging on the faux velvet. Still gets warm, but the quality of the fabric is awful. I'm looking for a replacement. It's my new favourite nap thing.

Works good
It’s a good product that works well, but be aware there’s a 6” border along the length, and a foot at the ends that isn’t covered by heating wires, so if you want more coverage, you are likely better off with the queen. This could be better outlined in product description eg heated area vs size.

Nice blanket but…
Nice heated blanket. Not too thin. Heats up quickly. The only downside are the wires. They are not long enough so if you attach an extension cord the wires can get in the way.
