Great sound quality
Great sound quality. I mainly use it on airplane since I travel internationally every month. I do have a Sony XM6 but just don't like to put a huge over-ear headphones on for long hours. I was worried about it would just sound like those $10 wired earbuds you can buy from grocery stores, but ended up It was way better than I expected. Worth the money.

Why requency response range is important
These are the ones to get. They aren't too expensive, but they sound great. These have a frequency range of 5Hz-24,000Hz. Other products make claims like " high-quality audio with a 20-20KHz range". Theoretically, that's the range of human hearing, but my ears can hear the difference. Here's why... The advertised range (e.g., 5 Hz - 40 kHz) indicates the frequencies the headphones can technically produce, but it doesn’t mean they reproduce them equally well. A "flat" response—consistent volume across all frequencies—is ideal for accuracy, but most headphones have peaks and dips. Reality: At the extremes (like 20 Hz or 20 kHz), the output might roll off—meaning the sound gets quieter or less accurate—rather than being as robust as in the mid-range (e.g., 1 kHz). For example, a headphone claiming 5 Hz might only produce a faint rumble at that level, not a clear tone. Also, I have an identical-looking pair of Sony ear buds that were slightly cheaper and they sound like crap by comparison, so you can't tell by looking at them. Finally, do not believe anyone that says that the range of these headphones can somehow damage your ears. There’s no specific frequency above or below which sound inherently damages ears—whether it’s infrasound (below 20 Hz) or ultrasound (above 20 kHz)—unless it’s delivered at a high enough sound pressure level (SPL), measured in decibels (dB). In other words, you're setting the volume is to loud. So, I have bought these numerous times. I keep coming back to them even though I also have expensive Apple Airpods, because they are relatively inexpensive, comfortable, sound great and don't need to be charged. The only negative is they aren't the best for talking on the phone or using for my work meetings. For meetings with Microsoft Teams I use another pair of headphones with a microphone that's designed to be closer to the mouth for phone calls. But in a pinch they will work for phone calls and meetings. Just don't expect them to have the best quality with the microphone.

Good BUT No volume control buttons.
I only like to order earbuds that have volume control and a mic for headphones that will be paired with a phone in my household. We go through earbuds fast in my home, I buy them all the time (loss, damage, etc.). My most recent favorite earbuds were unavailable. I was in a hurry but needed a new pair quickly. When I searched with those requirements I trusted the brand and trusted the recommendation by Amazon's choice for "having a mic and volume control." I wish I would have checked closely. They sound good, the mic is clear...BUT THERE IS NO VOLUME CONTROL. I would gladly order these again for a device that I do not need these features for, but I am disappointed that Amazon RECOMMENDED them for having a feature that they DO NOT HAVE. If you don't care about volume control, these are great, but if you do, I hope you see my review.

A must buy for anyone looking for a budget headset.
These Sony MDREX155AP earbuds perform flawlessly with both my PS4 and PS5 controllers. I picked them up as a convenient alternative when I don’t want to fire up my full stereo setup or my high-impedance headphone amp. The audio quality is outstanding—I can’t fathom the complaints in some reviews, especially at this price point. They deliver crisp, impressive sound and even outperform my AirPods 4 in both playback and mic recording, which makes sense given the tech differences. It’s frustrating how Bluetooth standards have led to overpriced wireless options that suffer from audio compression and end up sounding mediocre. These wired buds hold their own against any of my Bluetooth earbuds or headphones—skipping the built-in amp and wireless receiver really elevates the clarity and fidelity. The microphone picks up voices sharply without any artificial noise reduction, and the silicone eartips do a solid job sealing out background sounds so distractions are minimal. They’re lighter than pretty much every wireless pair I’ve tried, and the included cable clip lets you tweak the cord length just right, avoiding those annoying snags that yank them out of your ears. The fit is spot-on and secure, and they’re way more compact than bulky wireless models. I honestly believe wired audio deserves a renaissance—it’s never truly gone away, but so many folks have forgotten the advantages it offers. These are an absolute steal for the money.

surprisingly mediocre
Coming from sony (and considering its price for wired earbuds), I had high expectations. The quality of the earbuds is fine. The wires are all designed in a way that they take very low stress and are less prone to breaking from repeated bending and/or fraying. The actual buds are ergonomically angled so they fit into your ears with minimal fuss. The sound quality itself was the biggest disappointment. I've had betron earbuds that were a fraction of the price and had spectacular sound quality with rich bass and brilliant treble, but the sound I got out of these was comparable to $5 skullcandies i bought 5 years ago. The sound is thin, tinny, and nowhere near the "gorgeous" sound sony claims. the bass frequencies are non existent and the treble and mid ranges sound like they're playing from a speaker underneath a mattress. vocal songs sound like they're playing into an empty bean can. i've messed with the equalizer panels on both my phone and computer, but nothing changes the weak, airy sound quality I get. it just feels like I bought a $30 piece of trash. call me petty, call me a karen... but if you're paying 30 bucks for a product from a big audio brand you'd at least expect some good sound, even for wired earbuds. If I wanted this tinny, hollow sound I would've spent 5 bucks on skullcandies or jvc. as earbuds? yeah, they work. but for the price? no darn way.

Great Quality Sound + Comfort
These earbuds are great! I was on the hunt for some nicer wired earbuds than I have been using (literally the earbuds I got from the plane lol). But these are AWESOME! I just got them a few days ago and the fit feels great in my ears, and music sounds so so good. Now I did purchase these for the main purpose of video editing, and I haven't done much of that yet so I can't speak on that end. But I highly recommend these so far! I am loving these more than my beats earbuds.

Long Lasting
The only earphones that last me a long time. The earbud fitment isn't the best, but u can always replace them, and then they become more comfortable. The sound is pretty clear & the quality is too. After my first pair broke down two years of use later, I had to buy another pair, because they're the only good pair of earphones (at this price) that last a long time.

Volume feature lacking
Good quality in ear earphones; however disappointed at lack of remote features , no volume adjustment; have to manually adjust volume on phone.

Harmful frequency emitted
Not only is the volume output significantly lower compared to other Sony earphones in a similar price range, it emits a very high frequency that is damaging to the ears. I exchanged my first order for the exact same product, and found the replacement piece to have the exact same issues. So I know that it wasn't just a one-off defective piece, the product itself is bad. Please DO NOT BUY if you wish to PROTECT YOUR EARS
