Super heavy and it was hit or miss. It depended if it charged or not.

I bought 2 and they work to up convert 120(110) to 240(230). I got them to run a pair of Focal studio monitors purchased in Europe. The speakers are able to play up to VERY uncomfortable sound levels without any sign they are not being supplied enough power, even when playing deep bass. They have never gotten noticeably hot while under heavy use. I can't say these are recommended for their current use, but not sure I would try this with the lesser model. There is no line noises usually associated with with a "dirty" or improperly grounded power source. They're very heavy, but fit advertised dimensions. 2 of them will dominate most power strips and might completely consume a wall outlet so nothing else can be plugged in there with them.

Downside: Very heavy. Upside: This voltage converter worked perfectly for my international travels. It’s compact, easy to use, and handled my devices without any issues. The step-up and step-down conversion is reliable, and the build quality feels sturdy. A great travel essential for anyone visiting countries with different voltage standards. Excellent value for the money, but will only go to 75 watts. Compatible with my hair dryer from Japan, and curling iron from Morocco.

does not work, and it heats up very much. there is some smoke smell coming out of the outlet when i plug this in.

This voltage converter worked fine for my application. I am powering a single fluorescent bulb from an old sign, with an Italian plug that is 220v. I am in US, so we ton off 120. I was able to use this and toggling the switch the 120 power, and it worked. It did flicker a few times for a moment or so then seemed to work as intended. I probably wouldn't use this for large appliances etc. This feels well built, solid, and durable. It is a good size, and kind of heavy, so I would plan where you are going to place this. Overall this is cheaper than some alternatives I've come across, so it's a fair price for what it does. It's a simple plug and play.

The power seems to be insufficient. I use it to connect a 220v 3D TV(45w in use), and the TV sometimes flickers.
