If so... what kind of consistency is it?** A: I did make almond milk with it. It came out a little thick. It doesn't have a setting to make an unheated milk like you usually would for almond milk. Unless the juice button is it. There are no instructions for it. I just used the soymilk button. I returned mine and got one that is a lot less work and has a mill button for making raw nut milks. The milk turns out way smoother too. I have the soyabella now. **Q: i really really want a soy milk maker, am trying to find out how much money i can save. how many oz beans per 1.2 liters?** A: I usually put in 1/2 cup beans and fill the water to the top/max line (there are min and max water lines on the container). After filtering the grounds, I get about 4 cups of pretty thick soy milk. I buy soy beans from Bob's red mill(Bob's Red Mill Organic Soy Beans, 24-Ounce). The price is 18.56 for pack of 4 on Amazon with free shipping. So you are looking at about 77 cents for 4 cups of soy milk. I buy Bob's mainly because the calories are lower(I'm trying to lose weight lol~). If you don't mind slightly higher calories, I believe soy beans are actually much cheaper at local farmer/Asian stores. Even Bob's has a non-organic but higher in calories version which is much cheaper at $12.08 on amazon. Also when I was doing the research, someone said to look for Non-GMO beans. The strainer is not necessary at all, I prefer what comes directly out of the Soy Milk maker.2. in fact, I used barley together with soy beans to make wonderful soy milk, and really yummy! If you don't want to have problems with sticking, try adding just a few peanuts in other gradients, the soy milk will taste even better and the milk maker is easier to clean!3. What others say about cleaning the maker right after the soy milk is ready is right, but for those who are in a rush, you can pour out the soy mild somewhere else, and then put enough water inside the container and cover the head part, so that the okara won't stick to the container wall, and you can also clean it several hours later.4.
