At this moment I'm well aware of the controversy with this product being a knockoff of the Race Face Chesters. At the time of my purchase I had no idea that any such controversy existed and I bought these with a clear conscience. As for the product, the pedals are great. They keep your foot planted and they seem of nice build and quality. They installed very easily with the spanning wrench or you could use a 6mm Allen wrench. The red color was nice, although it could have popped a little more. It was kind of a dull red which was probably my only complaint with this product. All in all, it was a great product and barring any intellectual property issues, this is a highly recommendable pedal. Just to be totally honest and forthcoming: when it was time for me to purchase another set of pedals, I did not purchase these due to the complaints of intellectual property infringement, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that this is a quality product for the price. So if you have no issues with how this product came to market then hey, this one is for you.

These pedals are amazing!! Best twenty bucks I have spent in a long time. No doubt my shins will hate me for these eventually (it is inevitable), but dang do your feet stick to the pedals. I have only taken them for a single ride, but the trail was solid mud after about 5 days of solid rain. So, four miles with my wheels sinking about 1/4 inches in the mud with my average speed of 5.16mph ( I know, I know, I'm an animal). Anyway, these pedals are awesome and come with a few extra spikes. I wore puma flat shoes that were not very thick and I didn't feel any noticeable difference from my old pedals comfort wise. If anything changes once I go for a longer ride, I will be sure to update the review. One thing to note is that I have a fork mount roof rack. The pedals spun while driving and dug a few gouges into my freshly sanded and painted roof racks. MY FAULT! Just mentioning so others can avoid if they want to. I might get a few more colors just to mix it up here and there.

I absolutely love these pedals, they work wonderfully and the grip is so good, granted you'll have to get used to the occasional bloody shin if you crash (definitely wear long pants, don't learn the hard way like me) -- I am so much more confident on the trails with these versus the atrocious stock pedals with those tiny plastic nubs. These come with replaceable metal screws and good bearings but make sure you install them on the right side because they cross thread easily, however the metal parts next to the thread are labeled so pay close attention. Beside the fact that these are obviously Race Face Chester ripoffs, and probably made in the same factory, these are a steal for half the price of what raceface is charging. Definitely buy these if you don't want to spend the extra buck for the real thing.

I had no idea how much of an upgrade to my ride changing out factory pedals would be. My original Giant pedals were steel and the grip edges were pretty worn. I read reviews and these pedals seem to be well received and a great price point. All I can say is WOW. After putting about 100 miles on the set, I HIGHLY recommend them. They are super light, yet tough. Your feet will not slip at all on these things. I never realized how much energy I was wasting, just keeping my feet on the pedals as I ride. It seems like a small thing, but over the course of a distance, you are wasting a fair amount of power. This has got the be the closest thing to clips, in a traditional pedal. Tip: Also buy a proper pedal wrench to change out your pedals. It is a small investment to may sure you do not damage your bike or these new pedals.

These pedals are solid and a great buy. A heads up, when you first receive these pedals, please note that the cleats are pretty much all loose (or were with the pair of pedals I received). I used a 2.5mm hex key to tighten all 32 of them. I found two that were stripped and had to be replaced (they include a little bag of 4 sets, including the screws and the nuts). I would also recommend you install these with anti-seize lubricant. Grease is OK but won't last as long as anti-seize. They look great, they're silent, and feel solid and well made. Some reviewers have complained of the cleats falling out, but if you tighten them all before installing the pedals this won't be a problem, I don't believe. Happy cycling!

Edit: great pedal have handled everything I have thrown at them. For what they are( a knock off Chester pedal) they really aren't bad. Great grips and have handled some decent hits.

Light and grippy. Fits great and the bearings are super smooth. It came when spare grip posts. I'm a big fan of the matte finish.

Decent grip on the pedals, nice shape and fit. Comes with some replacement for the small screws used for grip and also some extra washers. Overall good quality product.
