My husband was skeptical about these, so we bought a small bag our first time around to see if they would work for us. That was January 2014 and we've never gone back to commercial laundry detergent. My oldest son has sensitive skin and doesn't have a problem with laundry washed in Soap Nuts. I like that I don't need to sort the baby's clothes out of the rest of our clothes, they all go in the machine together with a little baggie of soap nuts. We even wash his cloth diapers with soap nuts and have never had any issues with smells or the necessity to "strip" his diapers. Mom win! One other benefit is that Soap Nuts doesn't take up a lot of space - a beautiful thing in a small home where space is at a premium. My only frustration is that we kept forgetting to retrieve the baggie from the laundry before tossing it in the dryer.
