I decided to purchase 12 of these to replace all the mortice locks in the house as they were over 20 years old. They are easy to fit and come complete with screws. The measurements stated were accurate. Having fitted these we realise how bad the original locks had got. The action is so smooth now.

**Q: Hi, you've answered a question regarding the backset, saying its 75mm, but on the illustration it shows 55mm, could you advise?**
A: Hello, All sizes on the image are correct.

**Q: Whats the width of the end of the fitting. the bit that goes in the door ie opposite end to striker.**
A: I can't measure it as it's in the door. However, the advertised product dimensions, 75mm x 22mm x 17mm suggest that the width you are after could be 17 mm, although only the length, 75mm, of the bit that goes into the door is shown on the diagram. The height would then be 22mm. I hope this helps, but you can always use a chisel to widen the slot if necessary.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheap, but does the job and lasts well

It's very inexpensive, so I wouldn't necessarily expect it to last a lifetime. I've bought a few of these now, and the quality seems to match the price. I fitted one on my son's bedroom door about 7 years ago, and it's still working well. I bought another recently for our dining room door. You can probably extend the lifetime significantly if you only turn the handle to open the door, and close it by pushing shut without turning the handle. But, for the price, I have no complaints at all. My only minor gripe is that the strike plate is completely flat, where there really should be a slight bend in the tab that sticks out, to guide the latch in smoothly; however, bending it manually with a couple of grips is not difficult.
