Castle Art Supplies Watercolor Brush Pens for Artists - 24 Colors

The set comes with a little brochure that clearly explains techniques you can use with the brushes. The colors are bright and can be blended easily with the water pen. I used these on a variety of papers and they work well on all surfaces but best on cold press watercolor paper. Each pen has a colored base so they are easy to locate and sort and the caps click on tight. The water pen has a nice springy brush end and it took a while to get used to hiw much pressure to apply for the right amoint of water to come out. My pen leaks a little where it screws together but its probably moree user error than quality. The overall quality of the set is excellent and I do a lot of watercolor with traditional methods. I use these together with watercolor traditional methods. They are excellent for writing and adding fine line details because of thr crisp fine tip brush. I really enjoy using these and recommend them for artists over age 5. As an art instructor I could see very young children damaging the brush ends so if anyone is considering these for high needs learners or very young children I would demonstrate gentleness first or the brush could be ruined. The overall packaging is good and the box has beautiful art. These would make a wonderful gift.

These brush pens are amazing. The first set I got there were visible issues with the batch. One pen was actually broken and all of the pens were dry. I contacted the seller and got a reply within 24 hours. They sent me a replacement at no charge. The second set was amazing! Wet, rich colors. The nibs are soft bristles and have plenty of movement for line work and brush lettering. They are a new company and are working on the issues as they arise. The few things I would like to see changed are... Make it so caps can be put on the ends of pens. Make end caps easier to remove, many pens can be saved if people could remove end caps to put a few drops of water in the barrel. Color names on barrel. Castle Art Supply is an up and coming with student grade products. They seem to be listening to the consumers when there are issues. Can't wait to continue playing with this product! First 6 photos are from the 2nd set and the last 3 are from the first set. Big difference!!!

The water pen twists the opposite direction than you expect to open and fill with water. it is messy when you use it and the water drips down from the back water storage when squeezed to get the tip wet. So practice a few times so you see what it does before you ruin your painting with water drops where you dont want them. The pens themselves have very nice soft brushes however the paint does not flow very fast and it does not work like watercolor paint brushes. So again, practice. They are a great idea for when you cannot set up traditional paints but they do not paint like traditional paints. They do have a very fine tip but this of course needs a very steady hand as the tips are very soft. Again, these are soft and bend so if you are used to brushes of various consistencies that you can use for different aspects of your painting, you won't have that option with these pens. That said they are fun to use. Oh - the colors are good however I find myself needing more of one color than another which means that my pens will run out more of one color than another. But that is of course what will happen with pens. I would purchase again as they are not messy and can be used when you want to paint but don't want to set up your space for a full painting session.

I did extensive research trying to find the best watercolor markers for their price, and this was the winner. I love the company Castle Art Supplies, they make good quality stuff that lasts a long time and at a reasonable price. When doing research, I was trying to find watercolor markers that had actual brush tips, these do, and they’re perfect. The only downside I see is there is not as many colors, or versatility of color as I would like there to be, but still enough to cover all your bases.

It's hard to read through amazon reviews and know what you're getting yourself into. I could not be happier with these. The color comes out as soon as the tip touches the paper, it's vivid, it glides, etc. I saw some people on here saying that they couldn't blend the colors but I didn't have that problem at all. I filled up the water brush and it was blending without much effort. I recommend these watercolor pens for sure. I had no idea watercolor could be so easy to use in pen form.

I got this set a few months ago and I love it! I'd never used watercolour brushes before, and I was skeptical about the quality and ease of use. I have good control when it comes to shading with graphite and charcoal pencils, and I applied similar techniques to the brushes. It came out beautifully! The colours are vivid, and the ink has never dried up on me. One thing to mention is that the water brush isn't the best quality. I can see it breaking if you aren't gentle with it when you finish filling it with water. Other than that, it's worth the buy.

Colours of each pens flowed really nice and fluently, really easy to blend, can achieve really thin and precise strokes to thick large strokes to cover an area. Presentation of the brush pens comes in a clear plastic case with a tray with all the pens sits in, sometimes a little tricky sliding the tray back into the case. Had a little issue with some of the brushes but Castle Art Supplies provided an excellent customer support, quick response and the issue was solved within a couple of days. Cant thank them enough for helping me out. Overall I highly recommend getting these brushes, really good price, amazing customer service.
