As good as it gets
I got these for my light/natural colored wood stairs so I wouldn't slip down them (and to prevent my older dog from slipping down too). I think they are as transparent as it gets in terms of putting a non-slip tread on the stairs. Going down (looking from above, straight down) they are completely invisible. I think because of the texture, they are more noticeable when looking from the side (looking at the stairs above as you walk up). I don't know how a product could be any more invisible than these are though and still be effective. They clean just like normal solid material would - my vacuum and swiffer works just fine on them. Installation was super quick--Maybe 15 minutes for the whole set of stairs. They do have some air bubbles which are a little annoying, and I noticed the edges coming up after a week or so but I just ran the roller device over them again to smooth them out. That roller is genius to include with the product! One word of advice - if you have a small pet like my 12 lb dog, I'd recommend getting the wider size if they will fit on your stairs. I have about 2-3" of uncovered space on either side of my stairs because I went with the 28" treads. My dog will sometimes try to walk up the stairs next to me... if she does this she squeezes into the small non-tread space on the side of each step and ends up slipping.

They're easy to install and work great--for everyone!
These work just great! Our stair tread depth is fairly narrow, and slipping was becoming a greater risk as we got older. Now we're easily able to go up and the down stairs, even in socks. The improvement in our feeling of stability is fantastic. The strips didn't come with installation instructions, but that's the only negative we have. (the do come with instructions for removal, which we haven't yet tried.) After we read other purchasers' advice, installation was straightforward. Mark a consistent spot from the front edge of the tread (we used 1.5 inches) and from one side or the other, and start placing the strip from one end or the other. Once it's stuck down, then roll it. The rolling tool is essential for proper adhesion and getting rid of air bubbles. Depending on how well you place the strip, and on the smoothness of the surface you're working with, it might not be possible to get rid of every bubble. These strips are not completely invisible--in certain light situations, they're going to show (I don't think any strip would be completely invisible) but safety was far more important to us than the risk of a guest seeing one or two of them (news flash, we're old, we're over it), and we didn't want to deal with the cleaning issues of having carpet or carpet strips. We especially like the width of these strips (4 inches), as other strips were narrower and didn't give enough contact with our feet. Our dog will now go up stairs too, a benefit. Finally, our 28 year-old daughter slipped and fell down these stairs when she was a child. She was here recently and asked us why we hadn't installed these years ago!

Roller not included, but still look good
I bought these in February when we started working on our stairs. It took awhile ripping up carpet and replacing with new treads as we were doing everything ourselves. We’ve finally finished and I just dug out the Amazon box containing these anti slip treads. I’ve applied 2 so far and I must say they seem to be sticking well and the process is not hard, but time consuming. It seems I am having to put in a little more work than others because the “included roller for easy application” was not actually included. It’s not a big deal to me, I don’t mind the extra work since I like how they’ve turned out so far, but I will say that having the roller would probably make a huge difference in time. I read one review, a lady said she did her whole flight of stairs in 15 or 20 minutes. It took me 25 minutes to do 2 stairs. Before continuing on the rest, I will tinker with a few things to see if I can fashion something of a roller-like alternative.

Searched EVERYWHEREand finally found these!
After falling down 12 polished oak stairs and breaking my L ankle, I immediately (after getting X-rays, a cast and crutches :-), went on an exhaustive search and finally found these clear, Anti-Slip Treads from Premium Home. I love the transparency, the extra length ( 28"), the non-toxic material, the non-gritty feel that doesn't accumulate pet fur or sock fibers, the 15 treads per package, the "removeability" without damaging your stairs, the quality, the price and most importantly, the peace of mind. After having a very traumatic experience, I was determined to try to prevent my family, friends or pets from having a fall. I also spread the word on Facebook and sent an email to the 73 owners of our condo association stressing the value and quality of this product! Save yourself and those you love from ankle fractures or WORSE!! I was incredibly lucky to only break my ankle! Buy them today!

Initial rating for initial impression.... Two years later - still great
Just thought I'd update this review. Two years later and I have to say these are still great. They're still clear, still firmly stuck - no curling on the edges or anything.Purchased to put on interior wooden stairs because I've already slipped down the stairs once in the month I've lived here and because they're clear - I like the look of the wood and don't want a runner or messing with carpet treads.Four stars for: super fast shipping, ease of installation, give just the right amount of extra grip, and are completely clear as promised. I'll come back later to let you know... how long they stay stuck, how easy it is to clean without unsticking them, and how long they stay clear.

Excellent Product.
Usually things like this are infuriating. You peel the backing off the tape and the tape inevitibly twists, sticking to itself. This product is the exception. The backing peels off easily and the tape is firm enough so it doesn't twist at all. I applied this to my basement stairs with no problems whatsoever. The company even includes a small roller so the tape is very solidly attached. The only way you can see the tape is if you look at it from an angle in just the right light. It's nice to find a product that works so well.
