Expensive, yes. Worth buying? Yes. The taste is there. The heat is subtle. Yet, pleasantly lingering. on the back of the tongue. It will add a supportive finish, without overpowering a dish. 5⭐️.

I've been using Korean chili powder for many years. I have other chilis in my pantry, but Korean chili seems more balanced than others. It's my go-to chili.

Perfect item two season my food with good quality.

This is hard to rate as "spicy" is very subjective. To my brother, who eats insanely spicy food, this is practically nothing and was basically equal to paprika. To me, who always requests spice level 0, this had some kick even with a tiny bit. It's a very fine powder and very vibrant red that's a pretty color. It seems really fresh and the bottle is a good size. I wish it was a glass bottle instead of plastic though.

This is the first time I've tried a Korean red pepper and I'm pleased with it. The heat level is up there with my usual cayenne red pepper seasoning, and it adds a nice flavor. The grind level is listed as "fine" but it's a bit more coarse than other ground red peppers I've used. That's a plus when it comes to using this as a rub ingredient, but the coarser nature doesn't hinder using it as an in the pot type of seasoning. It comes securely packaged with an inner bottle seal and a combo flip top lid (one side for sprinkling; the other for scooping). I would have preferred a bit larger opening on the scoop side, but it's not a significant problem. It is a product of Korea. A good performing red pepper seasoning - five stars.

I don't cook anymore but need a spice for dipping sauce. This does not have any heat.

I love korean food and after many years of buying it, I decided to try actually making it (confession I don't cook much!). I quickly discovered that an essential part of the flavor profile was the chili powder. Any old chili powder just doesn't do it. THere is a particular flavor to authentic Korean chili powder (gochugaru) that is essential to getting it right! This brand is perfect and I love that they offer the powder in different coarseness'. It is not just for Korean dishes either, there is a sort of smokey feel to it that is sometimes reminiscent (to me) of some of the high quality aged paprikas. so it is a wonderful addition to the spice/chili repertoire of all dishes.
