GE WD28X265 Genuine OEM Silverware Basket for GE Dishwashers

Wasn't sure if this was the same basket as the one needed for the hotpoint dishwasher that was in our townhouse when we moved in but it works just fine! its the exact same replacement part number, although it took a bit of digging to figure that out. Hotpoint is GE's budget appliance line FWIW Been using it since mere minutes after it arrived a few weeks ago and its great! fits perfectly, not too big, not too small. Also if you were wondering like me where the dishwasher basket was supposed to go, in the dishwashers that take this kind of basket, it goes in the center of the front most row on the bottom rack, there should be a rectangular space with no upright spokes for dishes. i wasn't 100% sure when i moved into this place because the basket was missing when we moved in and its been over 20 years since i'd had a dishwasher this basic lol.

Laugh. Yes, go ahead and laugh. But I did not buy this to hold eating utensils. While in the process of remodeling my home office I came to the realization I have too many charger cords (fine, probably a sign of having too many items needing charging). Laptop cables, iPad cable, iPhone cable, etc. All of them jumbled up in a desk drawer. I wanted something to help me organize those cables. I looked and looked for a small basket or box to do the job and somehow wound up looking at dishwasher baskets. "Why not?" I thought. This one fills the bill perfectly. One compartment for each cable and associated component (such as the old, and still used, iPod dock). It hides away neatly in my overhead hutch, and the price was right. Oh, and it is sturdy and well made with no sharp rims or edges that you sometimes get on less expensive plasticware. I am sure it would do great in a dishwasher. I just hope mine never ends up there by mistake.

We just purchased a brand new GE to replace an older model Maytag. Although the old dishwasher was a piece of junk, I really didn't realize how much I would miss the old centered cutlery basket. The NEW GE has this long side basket with holes on top for individual flatware and only fits on the right side. It requires extra effort, to reach all the way to the back and side, to put the cutlery in the dishwasher, I really got used to the open basket in the center and pretty much throwing the stuff in. Well, I was skeptical, didn't know if this one would fit in the center or if the holes would line up with the spokes, but it did, and for the unusually good price on this basket, I am very pleased. I have seen this basket elsewhere, on the GE site for 3 times more. This was a good bargain and a good universal fit for my dishwahser.

Bought this basket for my Mother-in-law. I believe her dishwasher is a different brand, but her dishwasher has a built in pocket for silverware in the inside door. Not much room and it is against the door, so sometimes the silverware doesn't get completely clean. This basket fit perfectly in the bottom rack and accomodates a lot of silverware (she likes to entertain). Very sturdy. Does its job. Absolutely no complaints and she is thrilled with it!!!

Most dishwasher silverware baskets all seem to have weak grids on the bottom, so continuous tossing of knives and cutlery eventually break the grid, then the silverware falls through the grid and jams the inward movement of the lower rack into the dishwasher. The basket seems to have a more robust bottom grid and after a month it is showing no signs of damage. Time will tell. The size is good and fits my Miele dishwasher and the handle is robust. The prior basket I had came with a snap-on handle to save shipping space, and occasionally the snap-on feature would let go and drop the whole basket on the floor. Seems like a good basket at a reasonable price.

I was worried that I was going to have to special order a very expensive silverware basket for the very old dishwasher in the house we moved into. When I found this at the price I did and had it shipped (quickly) and it still fit in my dishwasher I was very excited. No more hand washing each piece of silverware. Sometimes I wish I had bought the one that has a little flip down cover for small baby like items. but if you put those items in first and then the silverware on top, I have not lost any item yet to the bottom of the dishwasher.

It is sturdy and well made. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago! I was putting up with a basket that was broken and could only use part of it. Why I waited so long I have no idea. This basket is very nice and fits in our Maytag dishwasher just fine. The price was reasonable and it arrived quickly.

Recently moved into a new house where the dishwasher was missing its silverware basket. Let's just say, having to hand wash your silverware every single time, or fighting with it to stay in the rack, is just too much to deal with on a daily basis. After searching stores for a solution, with no luck, I reached out to the handy dandy amazon app. This was the first product that popped up when I searched, and I knew immediately this would work. Ordered it right away. The product shipped out an hour later and got to my house the very next day!!! That made me incredibly happy! Keep in mind, I only live about 4 hours away from the sender. Placed the basket in my dishwasher as soon as I opened the package, and it fit PERFECTLY! I am so happy with this purchase. Definitely a happy customer.

Fits in my dishwasher, and does what it is supposed to do, so I am really happy with it. It was difficult to find a replacement for my original basket, so I am glad I found this. Be aware though - The measurements seem to be from the inside, not outer edge to outer edge, so it is a little bigger than the given measurements. If you have a small dishwasher, this may make a difference. Mine measures 21.8cm x 17.8 cm across, and is about 21.5cm high measured from the bottom to the top of the handle.

I like that it is compact and has 6 holders for cutlery.

Delivery was quick and the package was good. Product is sturdy, in a excellent size and fits perfectly in my dishwasher. I couldn’t be happier

Everything in my dishwasher was staying dirty, Until I went and got this basket. This basket kept everything inside of my dishwasher nice and clean, because the old one had holes in the bottom of it that my cutlery would fall through and stop the spinner from spinning.
