Mish-mash of poorly-edited ideas with few apocryphal citations
This is the first Joseph Lumpkin book I've read and will definitely be the last.1. If you look at the photo, this to me looks like a Word document that's been edited with suggested changes and then printed before those changes could be accepted or rejected. In other words, it's a draft copy with draft notations still there. This shows that this book was poorly edited.2. There are only a handful of pages with actual citations from apocryphal or biblical texts. That's all.3. The rest of the book are paragraphs of texts which have been copied and pasted together with almost no real order. Enoch and the fall of the watchers was covered no less than 8 times. 8 times!4. The font changes constantly in both font face and font size which is really annoying.5. Since there are no citations, the voracity of the author's claims about what actually happened in Biblical times is seriously suspect. I can't imagine that any actual scholar would produce such sloppy work.6. The story of Lilith as the first woman created by God, who was then punished by God to be a soulless, hideous succubus because she wanted to be Adam's equal, was distorted considerably from the versions I have read. So apparently Lumpkin is a sexist.7. At the end of the book in the Appendix, the author includes lists of angels and gods of several ancient societies, but he has put Thor and Loki of Norse myth on the same level as the great archangel Michael. Hmm, where do your facts come from? Marvel Comics or biblical texts?I can't imagine that anyone would take this text seriously. Get the actual apocryphal texts and decide for yourself. Don't read this.

Good overview of the topic
This book provides a good overview of the history of Angels and Demons in the Christian/Jewish tradition with a concise summary of various biblical and non-canon texts. Easy to read and very informative, a great place to start research into this topic.

Angels and demons:from creation to Armageddon
Very interesting subject, a lot of good info, very repedative though , and to much stock given to non canical literature.

average
I have studied these concepts for some time and have found zacceriah sittchin to be the most comprehensive and and informative in this area, while he did not focus on angels and demons as a topic , he covers all of this and vastly beyond
