100% piece of crap. It’s not even useful as a paperweight. Bought this phase converter to power a 3 phase mixer and it failed within 45 days of being installed with less than 30 hours of operation. It still provides 3-phase power but the power it provides isn’t clean and heats up the motor I’m trying to power.

Works great. Replaces a large rotary converter.

This product was bought to use in our shop for processing meat. Works great on the meat saw.

I recently picked up this Bonvoisin converter to power my 2x72 belt grinder's 2HP motor, and I'm pretty happy with it. I've been running it for a while now without any issues. While it does the job and provides a solid 3-phase power supply, I did notice a slight drop in power compared to true 3-phase. It's not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. My shop has a few single-phase tools but I really needed to run a 3-phase motor for some larger tools but mainly air compressors for painting that get used one at a time. After some research I decided to go with this model. It's a real small, light box that you can install almost anywhere near your power junction and motors. The digital phase shifter is a lifesaver especially for someone like me who isn’t an electrician tech expert. Setting it up wasn’t too hard either. The instructions were straightforward making it easy to connect the input and output to the correct terminals. I had it running pretty quickly which was a relief because I didn’t want to waste time trying to figure out complicated steps because the longer I messed around the greater the chance I would damage something. When I finally powered up my motor it was all the way it was meant to be. The converter handled my 2HP motor without any issues. It runs smoothly with no strange noises or hiccups. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I have not run into any issues. The 7A capacity means it can handle what I need without any problems. If you are looking to buy this you need to realize that this converter is designed to power only one motor at a time so make sure you think over your needs carefully first. That means if you have multiple tools or machines you’ll need a separate converter for each one. That’s not a huge issue with the price of these and they have different versions for different situations then my own so read first.

I have a lot of 3 phase equipment from past businesses that I am unable to use at home in my workshop due to the single phase residential power I have here. Installing 3 phase power at your residence is extremely costly, if you can get your power company to do it for you at all. This little phase converter allows me to use the 3 phase motors and equipment that are typically used in commercial settings at my residence. Just pay attn to the size of the equipment you want to run and match your phase converter to that size. So easy to wire up and operate a novice can do it.

No clear instructions, I burned it out. I am not able to say if this works. They should explain that this is generic any power until you run your motor.
