This is one of our favorite pantry staples! We keep it on hand and take it with us everywhere for a quick, high-protein snack or easy meal. It's perfect for busy days, road trips, or whenever we need something nutritious without any prep. Everyone in our family loves it—even the kids! It's delicious straight from the tin, but it's also amazing tossed on a salad, with crackers, or on toast. The flavor is fresh, smoky, and so satisfying. 10/10—absolutely recommend! These are just the best products. I cannot buy them often because they are so expensive, but once in awhile, for a special treat.

When people say "quality," it's not always clear what they're referring to. In the case of Fishwife, quality means freshness and texture that hold up well to the canning process, and don't compromise on the flavor. This trout is perfectly smoked and packaged, and I will definitely be buying more, as long as it remains available!

A relative told me that tinned, smoked trout was his go-to lunch. On his recommendation I bought the Fishwife brand and loved the taste (not too salty or oily), the look (robust pieces), and a nicely balanced smokiness. I’ve tasted other brands for the sake of comparison and Fishwife is the one I crave.

This item was super delicious. It tasted amazing, had a flaky texture, and didn't have too much oil. The quality was all-around excellent. My only complaint is that the portion is so small for the price. These would make great gifts, but I can't justify purchasing them again for myself.

I don’t have a lot of memories of Rainbow Trout, they were caught by my dad mostly and I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to watching things pass or removing hooks, so I have better memories of the meals and prep than the acquisition of said fish… But here we are in modern times, I’m reading an article about tinned fish and how much of a following the food seems to have grown over the years, and more interesting, now the tinned fish offers some real delectable options rather than just a bit of nutrition, heck the nutrition on some is seemingly better than fresh (or a bit less dangerous seeing how the food regulations in the USA have been so relaxed that recalls happen more often than not. But why the 5 star review? Easy, it is because this is a rare brand that I’ve been so happy with the quality, that I can ignore price and rest comfortably when ordering other flavors and fish from their product line that I may not have bothered with if I wasn’t as comforted by this brands quality, and yes, the quality is really special, It tastes like food! Most of the time I’d have canned fish, it would be due to not having anything else to eat and it was more sustenance that a delicacy. Now with this company Fishwife, I’m excited to get home, prepare a salad or better yet, some Japanese short grain rice in the Zojurushi rice cooker and top it with one of the Fishwife cans. Yes, I said it out loud (typed, if you are really paying attention). I don’t eat this product or other Fishwife canned fish as a reason to just eat anything because I can’t find anything else, this product is good, actually very good and I look forward to preparing meals with it. I’m impressed, to the point where I don’t pay (much) attention to the price as I feel I’m getting what I pay for easily.
