Leo jaymz Monsoon. An Incredible instrument for the price
I don't understand how a guitar at this price is easily as good and in some points better than guitars that are twice or even three times the cost. If you're hesitating about whether to get one or not, don't! Just get one, it needed minimal setting up out of the box, literally just things to my own preferences. Nothing major at all. The fit and finish is extremely good all the hardware is of good quality and it plays and feels very similar to some £1k guitars that I have who's name i wont mention (I****z) I've seen a few reviews on here that say "it needs a tone control" If you want one with a tone control buy the Hurricane! I haven't missed the tone knob at all. It's a pure balls to the wall rock/shred machine and it does it very very well, the hardest part about deciding if you should get one or not is deciding which colour to get. If this is where Leo jaymz guitars are headed with that look and the quality, there's some big name brands out there that need to keep looking over their shoulder, there's a new kid in town and he means business.

Love this guitar 💚🤘
Absolutely love this guitar, after a basic set up (action lowered and intonation checked), it plays incredibly well. Finish and hardware are fantastic quality and the locking tuners really are first class. The guitar looks like nothing else out there, especially with finish and reverse headstock. I have close to 40 guitars (some high-end) and this is as good as any of those. So impressed with it that I also bought the same model again, this time in black with the gold hardware 🤘

What violet paint?
Great guitar, plays like butter, sounds good, but, I think they ran out of violet paint on mine, disappointed with the colour, but everything is great, was tempted to return it but it just plays like a dream

Bang for Buck
From it's roasted maple neck, to the georgous Matt black body, the beautiful gold hardware with locking tuners and fixed bridge, this guitar packs a lot for the price. In fact, I'm confident you won't find a better guitar for the price. It plays like a dream. Smooth neck and low action without any setup. Although there's no tone no, I actually don't miss it. I couldn't have spent my money better and I'm glad I pulled the trigger.

Needs work
Don't believe all the reviews you see on YouTube. The guitar is nice enough and yes it has stainless round end frets, but they are badly installed and are all over the place. You will need to do fretwork on this before you can play it. Pickup wise it is very good, sounds great to be honest. Locking tuners are great and do the job nicely and the finish is generally good, for the money you get what you pay for, maybe a bit more than you pay for but just be aware that while the frets are good, they will need work.

Great value for money
I build electric guitars in my spare time and also play to a good standard. I bought this just because I wanted the challenge of making a cheap guitar better. I was very surprised by the quality of the guitar that arrived, not much to look at or "improve" at all. It has stainless steel frets with those semi-hemispherical ends on a bound neck with a 14" radius on the board. It says in the instruction booklet that it has a bone nut, but on inspection it's plastic. However, it is cut perfectly and really doesn't warrant changing. The wiring scheme is basic, as you'd expect, but the humbuckers have Alnico V magnets (or are published as such) and I was very pleased to see they came with 4 x conductor leads, meaning phase reversal, coil tapping, series/parallel wirings are a possibility. The bridge is a copy of the Hipshot Hardtail that I have been using for many years on my own project guitars and is good for all the same reasons. The only thing is, the real Hipshot unit is available with two different base thicknesses and the one fitted to this guitar is copying the thinner one. That means that the saddles need to be jacked all the way up on their allen screws to achieve the right action. I personally find that irritating for my picking hand. All in all an excellent purchase for something I bought on a whim. Quite how they can manufacture and ship a guitar of this quality for £227 is a mystery to me and just reaffirms that I should not leave my day job to build guitars for a living, coz one-offs can never compete, at least cost-wise.

It is brilliant, not only in looks and build but in sound quality. Very pleased.
I have been playing guitar for what seems like many years now, and have a collection that I think is too big. But that is what happens over time; and very infrequently I see a 'different one'. So when I saw this for sale; liking the colour and design and after searching the net to see what peoples feedback was, thought I would get yet another guitar that I could always send back if it didn't meet what I was hoping for. Was I ever wrong! It is brilliant, not only in looks and build quality but most importantly in sound and obviously sound quality. There are a few minor things it could have; such as individual pickup volume and tone controls, but these are nothing, as when I actually play it; it is a lot greater than I expected.

Cracking guitar
I've had to drop a star ONLY because I'm unable to drop half a star! The Guitar is worth all the positive praise it receives. Amazing value at well under £200. Looks fab, plays brilliantly. Hardware is good, electronics surpass the asking price . Pickups are punchy with clarity. If your in the market for a new guitar ( in this style) you will not be disappointed. Treat yourself and get I spired! Oh ..the half star drop, one dead note on the 17th fret B string. Easy enough to remedy.

Was looking for a new axe to play, i play some bass and dabble on other instruments and like to record and make my own stuff. I really wasn't looking to go back to my local Guitar Center. Did a little research and came across this guitar from a friend. Then saw a video of another person playing it and commenting how nice it was for such an inexpensive guitar. Looked online and here on Amazon and they were out of the model and color i wanted Violet Flame and Violet Ocean. It sold out fast apparently for those 1st gen units. A week later i get notice while on amazon website and see one used marked returned unknown reason, but in original box with everything. Took a chance thinking minor things i can fix easy enough and setup is par for the course on most guitars anyway, and they(Amazon) have money back if it doesn't work so. Guitar arrived and the outside box didn't inspire hope if i am honest. I calmly opened it up taking my time and then got to the inner boxing and foam protection molded blocks. To my surprise it looked new, untouched. Gently picked it up and checked it for blemishes, none. Checked the neck, Seems straight and the frets smooth. The back of the neck was nice and smooth. Nut while plastic isn't junk plastic, its actually a decent quality for the type it is. I checked the fret board with scale and frets with gauge, it was all within spec. restrung it and tuned. Holy cow it is an easy no frills guitar to play. Most use pedal effects anyway and this single knob 3 switch is built for shredding and is just a joy to play. I paid no where near retail for it (embarrassed to say how little i paid). Absolutely love this guitar almost as much as i did my 1983 Aria Pro II Urchin Deluxe. I think this guitar has that type of potential , really. The 3rd gen models now come with cases and locking tuners to make them even better low cost options! Appreciate the detail that went into this guitar that was designed for entry level but plays and shows above its station. Obviously shipping a guitar can have an impact on your experience as it could arrive damage, i was lucky and didn't suffer that in this case and just want to be fair and honest with folks i feel i got very lucky with this purchase to get a nice instrument undamaged. Thanks for listening to my long winded and personal review.

Edit: I gave it one more star because after set-up, it’s even better. This is one hell of a guitar and I’m really glad I bought it. If you feel like it’s a risk, I’d recommend ordering anyhow because, in my experience, it’s beyond worth it. There’s some interview vids online with the owner of the Leo Jaymz, who is pretty straightforward in his own assessment of the guitars and why they’re cheaper and better equipped than most budget guitars. Research it but look out for gear snobs, who will almost always cite how much better an expensive brand name is without having tried or compared the LJ guitar. - kp. Original post: I bought this with trepidation, but I don’t regret it. The colour (green burl) is gorgeous. The locking tuners are nice and make string changes much less laborious (you aren’t winding forever, which is nice). It has a beautiful headstock that matches the body. The action is high for me, and I’ll take it in for a set-up to nail down the intonation, which is slightly off on two strings, a little more than slightly on the D and B. For those with small hands, the shallow D-shaped neck is thin glides nicely. I find that the pickups are clear and quite good. For the price, this is a pretty cool guitar that looks fabulous and plays well. I didn’t expect it to be this good, but it is. I will definitely get another Leo Jaymez down the line.

I just returned a name brand guitar that cost twice the price of my LJ Monsoon that showed up with scratches in the finish even though the box was undamaged showing they have no quality control. This guitar showed up perfect and has way better features than the name brand that cost twice the price. The burl top is awesome, but every other part of the guitar is a premium feature, from the locking tuners, scalloped and painted reverse headstock, roasted maple neck, 21:1 locking tuners, and AlnicoV pickups, to the offset inlays, and bound body and neck.

I own 4 gibsons-one is a slash 1-500 built, yamaha 1820, peavey wolfgang, american ultra strats, tele's, ibanez 2480, and this is the best quality built and acoustically resonating guitar I have- binded ball end frets? they are insane. I take look backs at it in disbelief. I bought 2 other leo jaymz and still have the same opinion on both. Don't go by the guy who says intoation was off-all guitars need a set up and a quick video will show you how-takes 5 min I don't know if these big brands are gonna last
