What's even more fab is the scholastic writing style, which guides you through the book without being boring or overly complex. Aside from the small size and the fact that it is jam packed with pretty much everything a final year medic should know, I love that it aims to teach more than just medicine. The authors really emphasise the importance of a holistic approach when treating a patient and that medicine goes beyond just diagnosing and treating symptoms. There also a bit of literary knowledge to be gained, with mentions of Sylvia Plath, James Joyce and a poem by Ted hughes... Could it get any better?
