The SR3 is an in-sump skimmer with a narrow footprint that makes it perfect for small sump spaces and fits inside the middle chamber of sump section of the 29 gallon Oceanic BioCube aquarium. Skimmer features a dual return chamber and underwater return to effectively remove excess bubbles. Skimmer includes a side mounted venturi pump (Rio 600). Rated for aquariums up to 60 gallongs. Skimmer measures 8½"" x 3"" x 12"", with a height of 16½"" needed for removing the collection cup.

Eh...
Kind of a pain to get in and out of the back of a biocube 29, for cleaning. The skimmer at the top (black portion) likes to fall in to the actual unit and it's maddening to try to get it out because the plastic ring holding it up doesn't like to stay when it comes in contact with water. . Other than that its great.

Pros: Fits Biocube 29, solid materialCons: Too many bubbles introduced to the main display, loud pump that vibrates against the bottom of the tank, venturi hose too short, plastic venturi connection to pump is poor as it came loose while taking hose off.I took this out of my tank a day after I installed it due to the amount of noise, bubbles. Its also very difficult to adjust to work properly - as you will need to tinker with the tank/sump water level, venturi intake, skimmer collection cup position, and have lots of patience in reserve IMO. Directions are very general and have pictures that show examples, but look as though a child drew them. There is an open debate on which direction the skimmer should be placed in chamber 2, if you have the BC 29 - left or right facing? And, since the water is pumped into the skimmer, the space around the skimmer and in between the walls of chamber 2, there is now a vacuum of space which contributes to a waterfall effect within the sump from flow coming from chamber 1.

Great Quality
This is by far the best protein skimmer and easiest to use of any protein skimmer that I own in the 4 bio cube aquariums that I own.

Runs very hot but not bad
Pump included raises the temp in my tank very high during the summer. I never have to use a heater in my tank in the winter now. Skimmer does the jump though.

Not adequate
Fits well but it's performance is lacking. Does produce enough foam, and creates unsightly bubbles in the tank.Would not recommend this product.

It is a waste of money
very loud, doesn't skimm at all, and you have tons of bubbles in the water. It is a waste of money. I had to take it out.

its good... but
this is a good skimmer but as the combination sum skimmer is a bit tricky. In a small tank would probably work perfectly.
