COBI 2972 Small Army Tank Mark I", 605 building bricks

I bought this for myself and it's quite good quality for nockoff lego

Superb product, historically accurate and a wonderful model. Tough to build as all the bricks are green but well worth the end result. This is too hard for an 8 year old but I enjoyed the challenge!! Great fun for my boy to play with and he wants more Cobi models.

This was not the easiest build. It is not something you can disengage your brain and just build on. Twice, I thought it was missing pieces - but in each case, I found, I had made a mistake and the pieces had landed in the wrong place. Cannot blame COBI for any of that. Instructions are clear enough and a slightly challenging build has its own blessings. Small quality issues, hence only 4 stars. I had to de-bur some of the plates. Also many pieces have injection marks. In most cases these can be hidden by rotating the piece. After I became aware of this and did some modification, it looks acceptable. Unfortunately 2 pieces are printed on the side where the injection mark is. On to the positive: All pieces are printed, no stickers. The print is generally good. Very precise. As are the pieces. Except an occasional bur. All fits well. COBI is rather tight, best to check before pressing down, as they are sticking well. I suggest having a prying tool ready. (Kitchen knife or a spudger.) Both tracks rotate. Not as smooth as the one on the Renault WWI tank. But they rotate. If they don't, I would suggest checking the orientation of the wheels. Especially on the underside of the tank, where they are put on backwards. Only there, they need to be mounted onto the their black plates concave side first. Also, the tracks need to ride between the side wall and wheel. I used 44 pieces per track as by the instruction. That makes the tracks sit tight, but not too tight. All in all a nice model. These Cobi kits just keep on getting better and better. The models are becoming almost scale now, and it great to see such an unusual subject for a construction toy.. Full marks.

My grandsons into tanks at the moment and he's really likes these models he thinks they are better than other model makers
