Read Aloud Bible Stories: Volume 2

My kids love these books! Allows them to hear stories from the bible in more simple terms where they understand. They beg me to read these stories to them! Illustrations are very simple and large where kids might pay more attention to them too.

Good for bedtime with your little ones, and you might learn something, too!

My 18-month-old has been obsessed with Volume 1 of this series for about six months, and my husband and I loved it, too! So I bought Volume 2, and the truth in the stories is SO beautifully communicated for little minds and hearts. We could not love these biblical messages enough!My one disappointment is in the illustrations and layout. They switched to a different illustrator for this one volume, and, for me, he just didn’t quite hit the nail on the head like Vol. 1’s illustrator. Then, the layout is super wonky. I’m a graphic designer by trade, so seeing text so close to the page edges where it’s nearly cut off, or seeing the face of one of the characters in the gutter (fold) of the book—so disappointing. Just doesn’t look as polished as Vol. 1 or other children’s books I’ve seen. STILL—highly recommend, five stars!!! Kids likely won’t notice these things, and the truth is told no matter the packaging.

I have continued to purchase these books for gifts since they were first published many years ago. To an adult, these may seem too simple or boldly illustrated. I have taught Sunday school, VBS and other children’s ministries. When the preschoolers get antsy, I have pulled out these books and they are immediately silenced and focused. I have never seen any other children’s book which reaches to the depth of a small child’s comprehension and heart as these. My grown children have treasured their memories of this series and have now moved on the share them with their own children.

My kiddos love the beautiful pictures in this read aloud book. We will definitely be purchasing the other volumes.

This line of books captures the attention of children like no other books I've read. The large and simple pictures and words keep their interest.

I wanted to expose my 4yo grandson to the stories I grew up with knowing he was not being raised the way I was and my children were. So I bought this book along with several other books that were my daughters favorite at that age. When I ask him if he liked his books and if his mommy was reading to him. He said yes he got them, yes his mommy was reading to him. I said well do you like them? He said yes especially the one about the Bible.

It’s great for little kids with short attention spans. Simple stories, only a sentence or two per page, large colorful pictures.

These books are excellent for young children. I have given them as gifts since the first book came out over thirty-five years ago. When I served as a children's pastor there the book that had the story that that we were studying that week was always in the classroom. Unfortunately it is hard to find the books in bookstores, but am delighted that Amazon.ca has made them available. thank you
