It's broadcast unit connects via a bayonet type jack. I decided to use the optical out on the TV and bought this DAC. It worked right out if the box. Tried hooking it up with Bluetooth to my echo dot then to soundbar but either sound was too loud or too low. Hooked it up to a bigger blue tooth speaker but sound wasn't great.....So I ordered this, it said frequently returned but i thought I would give it a go...it arrived today and i plugged it in to the SPDIF port of tv, used a 110 5v USB plug for the power source and used a 3.5mm female to female adapter to connect the 3.5mm 25ft cord I already had to my Vizio sound bar. Turned on tv, went to audio and selected digital and had sound coming from my sound bar.
