My daughter had read the first series at school so bought her these to read (she’s 8) She loves reading the different stories.

It was a present for my 7 year old grandson. I bought the first set for Christmas. He has now read those and is on the last one of series 2. I am very glad there are 25 series the speed he's reading them. I also bought the book of beasts to go with them. He is a good reader but boys are notorious to get interested in reading. This is a good series to get them started. The characters include a girl so I know his sister will enjoy these books when her time comes.

So read all in a week. Fantastic value for all these books

Looked for these for a while. Specifically bought them becaus the image at the time showed they include the collectable cards which is what my niece wanted (as her original book in the series had them). Arrived in a few days, looked brand new and unused, but on further investigation we found that there has been a page torn out near the back - the same place where the collectable cards normally seem to be in her previous copy. I was pretty disapointed by this as my niece specifcially asked for the ones with the cards. She loves the stories, so she's still happy she has them, but from a buyers point of view, this isn't exactly great. I'll probably go book hunting in stores next time she ask me for a series so I can inspect them before purchase.

My 6 year old son was captivated by the first beast quest series and so I have bought him this for his 7th birthday. There are illustrations to keep him interested and the sentence construction and vocabulary are simple enough for him to share the bedtime reading with me. The stories are very predictable- but he doesn't seem bored by this, and the story gets straight to the action with little preamble which is a definite plus. The books are slim enough not to be daunting. I definitely recommend this if you want to stimultate your child to read books. I should add when my daughter was the same age she also enjoyed them- there is a female side-kick to assist the hero who is a 10 year old boy.
