I have never had a problem with sleeping until a recent undiagnosed medical issue making me an insomniac almost every single night. I would stay up until 2-3 and wake up at 5:30 when my boyfriend alarm went off for work. I was exhausted. I bought this product along with Melatonin in hopes of regaining some sleep. The sleep mask came a few days before the Melatonin and it did such a great job by itself. Little night lights that would never keep me up before were making we restless and unable to pass out, same with the TV. I put this mask on the first night probably at 9:30 which at this point in my life was waaaay early to be going to bed. Within about 10 minutes I had passed out. Boyfriends alarm went off at 5:30 am - I briefly woke up and went right back to sleep. It's great for mornings when the sun is coming up but I am still able to sleep in whereas before if it was bright in the room it meant for sure that I was awake for good. As well as mid day naps, it blocks out all light so I can finally get the sleep that I need. The mask is very comfortable and fits me perfectly. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night it is off of me somehow, not sure if it slides off while I am shifting or if I for some reason take it off without realizing it. It has velcro across the back strap that you can adjust. As far as how long it will last me, I'm not sure. I have had it for about 2 weeks so far and it is holding up fine. The ear plugs that came with it are horrible, but I didn't buy this product for the plugs, just the mask. If you are having trouble sleeping with will be a god send. Don't hesitate buying it, you won't regret it. If it were to break in a couple months I would buy another one. A few $10 purchases a year is totally worth the excellent sleep this mask provides me.

This is a great product. I've never tried any other sleep mask product so I can't genuinely compare but I've never needed to try anything else. The contoured design fits amazingly well on your face and the elastic border around the mask itself make it fit tight so that barely any light gets through. When new, this mask doesn't let in any light period. On top of that, the convex shape of the eye sections leave plenty of room for your eyes to move freely during REM sleep, making it even more comfortable. On top of that, each order comes with two high quality ear plugs that actually work really well. As great as this product is, however, it is not perfect. You have about 3-6 months of usage before it starts to fall apart and the elasticity loses it's tightness. You will be buying this product over and over, unfortunately. But even after the materials falls apart, it is still very usable. It will still block most of the light, letting in maybe 10%, and it will still fit on your face. Not as comfortable when new, but comfortable enough that you can still use it. If you can handle the feeling of it when it's worn out, I suspect you can use this product for more than a year. Yeah, you may have to keep rebuying this when it wears out, but the quality of this mask and what it does for your sleep is more than worth it.

I have been using four different sleep masks over the last year and I am writing this review as a comparison. The masks are the Dream Zone-Earth Therapeutics Sleep Mask; the Lewis N. Clark Comfort Eye Mask; the Lights Out Contoured Sleeping Mask Black Out Sleep Eye; and the Dream Essentials Sweet Dreams Contoured Sleep Mask with Earplugs and Carry Pouch. All four of them are a vast improvement over sleeping without a mask, as I am quite light-sensitive. However, there are differences. I tried the Sweet Dreams Mask first and initially liked it a lot. The carrying bag is flimsy and I have better ear plugs than the ones they give, but the mask worked well. It is molded to the nose and eyes so you open your eyes without having your lashes brush against the mask. This seemed cool at first but really is not that important compared to other qualities. I used the mask every day for about four months, and was satisfied, although, as in most masks a little light come through around the nose. But then I noticed that it was coming apart. The layers of material were separating and I could see the mask was not going to last much longer. So I bought the other three in order to decide which worked best for me. The Lights Out Contoured Mask is also shaped around the nose and eyes. It did a very adequate job, and I probably would be more enthusiastic about it except that I felt the Dream Zone and Lewis N Clark masks were superior to it. Both of these have extra pillow material under the eyes, so they block out light better and are very comfortable. The Dream Zone mask is soft and pillowy throughout, with a satin exterior and soft cotton interior. It is incredibly comfortable, and I sink into sleep as it floats over my face. The Lewis N Clark also has those pillows under the eyes, and is a bit tighter fit with perhaps a tiny bit better light reduction. Both of these masks give me a great night's sleep, and I alternate in thinking I prefer one over the other. Sometimes I switch back and forth from night to night. Meanwhile, I have brought the Lights Out Contour Mask to my office for when I take naps there, and the Sweet Dreams Mask is around as a backup, not having totally fallen apart yet. Update four years later: Over time I decided that the Lewis and Clark mask works best for me. The second time I ordered a Dream Zone mask the feel of the material was less comfortable and it did not last very long. There was the same fraying reported by some other reviewers. I now have three Lewis & Clark masks that I leave in different places I sleep or nap (bed, office, car), and have given them as gifts. I am very happy with them -- they have given me consistent a good night's sleep. And while I did have some of the staining originally, they do seem to have fixed that problem. I do not have it with my most recent purchase.

I tried three sleep masks, two of which, Sweet Dreams and Lewis N Clark, were highly rated and popular. The third mask, Macks Dreamweaver Contoured Sleep Mask, I had a hard time finding on Amazon, but am glad I did. It was the one I ultimately kept and recommend. Below are my reviews of the three sleep masks and why I chose the Macks Dreamweaver. Dream Essentials Sweet Dreams Contoured Sleep Mask Pros: * Does a good job of blocking light * The contoured design doesn't put any pressure on the eyes, if the mask stays in place * Comfortable material Cons: * The elastic strap kept riding down and onto my ears. It felt like it was cutting into my ears. * The nose opening is too low, causing the mask, and thus the eye sockets, to ride up, defeating the purpose of the contoured eye socket. * Not good for side sleepers as the mask does dislodge * Cheap feeling pouch I wanted to like this mask based on all the positive reviews, but ultimately the bad position of the elastic strap, and the fact that it kept riding up on my face, were what made me give up on it. I didn't have it long enough to verify the delamination that others had experienced. Lewis N. Clark Comfort Eye Mask Pros: * Does a decent job of blocking light when it stays in place * While not great for side sleepers, it was better than the other two Cons: * Like wearing a tight fleece jacket around the eyes. * As the night progressed, the elastic strap slipped down and felt like it was cutting into my ears * Nose opening is way too low, causing the mask to ride up and thus allowing light in from the bottom I would have settled for this one had I not found the Macks Dreamweaver, but like the Sweet Dreams mask, the elastic strap cutting into my ears was the determining factor. I liked this one slightly better than the Sweet Dreams because it did seem to stay in place a bit better. Macks Dreamweaver Contoured Sleep Mask (Pack of 2) Pros: * Blocks light the best of the three masks * Nose opening is at the right height * Contoured eye sockets are large enough to accommodate some movement * Comfortable material * Has two, slim, adjustable elastic straps instead of one large one * Does not cut into the tops of the ears * For about the same price as one of the other masks, you get two of these Cons: * If you are a side sleeper or move around, like the other masks, it will move, but it was still comfortable, even after moving. * The material is basically identical to the Sweet Dreams mask, which makes me wonder if it will delaminate like people have found with the Sweet Dreams, but I haven't used it for more than a few weeks now. So far, no delamination. But if there is, a second one came with it. While the Dreamweaver isn't perfect, given the fact that it won't stay in place with movement (Do any masks stay in place all night?!), it was the best of the three. The comfortable positioning of the eye sockets, nose opening and two straps make this the winner.

I bought this when one night my roommate stayed up late to study and had her desk lamp on the entire night. In general and artificial light while I'm sleeping is awful. So I looked at the reviews and decided to buy this. Last night was my first night sleeping with it. Starting with the bad. Cons: 1) It slightly, SLIGHTLY squeezes on your nose. After about 2 minutes I was entirely used to it. Just if you have asthma, or have a breathing problem, or a bad experiences with having your nose slightly constricted, then this is not for you. 2) Have to sleep with your hair up. I don't like having my hair squished against my head because then I sweat and its awful. So when I use this I tie my hair up in a bun on the top of my hair and I am good to go! Pros: (SO MANY!) 1) SO DARK!!! Nothing gets through for me! Usually even a tiny slit of light comes through but not with this. It is pitch black and no matter how bright it is outside it is 100% black. 2) Comfortable!! The fact that it doesn't press against your eyes is a genius idea! You can put this on and open your eyes and sit deep in thought or blink away, regardless of why your eyes are open it is as comfortable as can be. Also the material is really soft. 3) I saw some reviews complaining about the strap and the ears, I simply sat the strap over my ears and everything was good to go. Anyway I would HIGHLY recommend this to someone looking for a sleep mask. It is 100% worth the price, I would probably pay double that, that is how good it is! On a side note I woke up and I was not wearing the mask (I am a pretty crazy sleeper though) but I had SUCH a good night sleep! The best in weeks! BUY IT!

I love this sleeping mask. I am a very light sleeper and always sleep best when it is very dark. I was looking into getting blackout curtains for my bedroom, but it was going to be pretty expensive- so I looked into my other options and decided to try a sleep mask. I have tried several different kinds, but I like this one the best. Here are the things that make it different from other sleeping masks I have tried: -Molded eye cups: I can open my eyes with the sleep mask on and my eyes aren't bothered by fabric pushing down on them. -Molded nose area: There are other sleep masks that have fabric intended to keep the light out where your nose fits into the mask, but none of the ones that I have tried work as well as this one. It fits perfectly around my nose and doesn't let any light it. -Comfortable strap: The strap is elastic, so it moves with you, but it keeps the mask where you want it. I toss and turn and the mask stays on. It is snug (you can adjust with the velcro tabs in the back), but not tight. This mask fits so well it doesn't need to be tight. The fabric is soft and doesn't stick to your face or get hot, like some other masks. The earplugs are nice- they are standard moldable foam earplugs. I can't use them right now because I have a baby that I need to be able to hear, but as soon as I can- I am going to use them again! It makes a big difference when your sleep can't be disturbed by light or sound!

After reading a lot of reviews for the Dream Essentials Sleep Mask, I was excited to receive it in the mail. My excitement soon turned to disappointment for several reasons. 1) This mask does not block out all of the light. Now, I know that most sleep masks let a little light in around the bottom of the mask, but this one let in a LOT of light. The material the mask is made of does not allow it to contour to the shape of your face, so the form of the nose on the mask doesn't fit snugly enough to block out light. 2) This mask is not made for side sleepers. I tried wearing it for two nights, and on the first night I kept it on for a few hours and then switched to my old mask. When I was trying to sleep on my side, the mask slid up the side of my face and was just plain uncomfortable. I was aware of it most of the time I was sleeping, so I just had to switch it for an old one. The second night I tried to use it, I lasted for no more than 5 minutes before I switched. 3) The material the mask is made of seems really cheap. I can see how some other users had to replace it after a couple months of using it because it seemed like it would just fall apart at the seams after one or two washings. I will say that the two things I did like about the mask were how lightweight it was and the open area around the eyes. The one thing I hate about most masks is that they smoosh my eyes, making my vision blurry in the mornings for quite a while. With this mask on, you were able to open your eyes completely without any pressure. Also, if you are going for an aesthetically pleasing mask, this isn't it. It looks like a eyeless batman mask/bra combination, so if I did keep it, it would only have been for sleeping at home and not for airplanes. As for the ear plugs and the carrying case, I didn't even look at them before I returned the mask, so I can't speak for their quality. Overall, if you are a side sleeper, do not buy this mask. It may be ok for back sleepers, but only if they are fine with more light than normal coming in at the bottom.

I bought this sleep mask in 2010 and use it while traveling because it is so lightweight and takes up so little space. It is very comfortable & does a solid job blocking out the light because of the design that covers your nose as well as your eyes. It is not perfect at blocking all light but the design doesn't press against your eyelids like some do and once you close your eyes you will not really be able to tell the difference between total blackout and the limited light that you can see at the bottom. If you are looking for total blackout, I would recommend the "Mindfold" over this one but since I own both I can tell you this mask travels much better, allows you to sleep on your side (an issue with the "mindfold") and it has lasted extremely well. After 8 years the 3 layers.of the mask have started to split so I have just ordered a new one, but 8 years of use and more abuse than it would get at home is excellent durability in my opinion and that is why I have just ordered a new one. Just my opinion, but I think re-purchasing an item after it has finally given out is the highest form of personal recommendation that I can give to a product. Best $7.95 I spent in 2010 and I think it may be the best $12.95 I spend in 2018 as well.

Diese Schlafmaske macht's wirklich dunkel. Ich wohne in einer Großstadt an einer Hauptverkehrsstraße. Nun ist nicht nur Lärm ein Problem, sondern auch die Ampel und Straßenlaterne direkt vorm Schlafzimmerfenster. Auch die Jalousie sorgt nicht wirklich für Dunkelheit, was mich doch hin und wieder stört. Also begab ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Schlafmaske. Ich bereue den Kauf dieser Maske überhaupt nicht! Sie ist perfekt. Durch den Nasenbereich dunkelt sie wirklich gut ab. Sie drückt nicht auf die Augen, da sie in diesen Bereichen gewölbt ist, was es mir sogar ermöglicht, die Augen (fast) ungestört zu öffnen, wenn ich sie trage. (Das "fast" bekommt sie, da ich recht lange Wimpern habe, die es dann doch mal schaffen, beim Öffnen des Auges, gegen die weiche Maske zu kommen) Der Gummizug ist gut und die Maske angenehm zu tragen. Rückenschläfer werden absolut zufrieden sein. Aber selbst ich als Seitenschläferin komme gut klar, auch wenn es manchmal 1 oder 2 Anläufe zur richtigen Schlafposition bedarf, in der die Maske dann nicht verrutscht oder knickt und doch ein klein wenig Lichteinfall entsteht. Augen zu und es ist dunkelste Nacht :) Hier gebe ich gern 5 Sterne.

DAS sind die besten Schlafbrillen ever !!! die Augen können im Schlaf ganz locker rollen, die Aussparung für die Nase ist so geschneidert, daß wirklich k e i n Licht durchkommt, dieses Teil ist sehr leicht, drückt nicht und ist gut zu befestigen. Ich habe die überall: in jedem Koffer, jeder Handtasche, sogar im Auto-Handschuhfach, damit ich die immer griffbereit dabei habe, wenn ich mal DUNKELHEIT brauche, denn d i e ist für mich das allerbeste "Schlafmittel" !!!

devo dire che questo copri occhi da notte è il migliore che abbia mai acquistato, in quanto non comprime Gli occhi e maschera quasi totalmente dalla luce...rimane uno spiffero vicino al naso.subito a indossarlo mi stringeva un po' il naso ma poi ho imparato a metterlo in modo che non mi desse fastidio.

This is worth every penny and so much more for me - You can't put a price on a good nights sleep!! Keeps the light out really well, doesn't feel claustrophobic to wear as the contours mean it doesn't touch your eyes and the earplugs are great too. I've used this for years and am on my second one after the elastic stretched too far on my previous one - after 5 years of wearing it every night I didn't think that was too bad!!

This sleep mask works so well! Your eyes can move freely under the mask and it lets no light in at all. The strap in adjustable so I can make it fit my small head and it sits very comfortable on your head. I never used the earplugs but the seem fine too. Everyone says that I look like a bug but I don't care - they must be jealous of how comfy and rested I can get using this mask. :) Here is what I like about this mask: * with soft fabric with adjustable strap * no light at all get in * come with travel case to keep it clean * eyes can move freely - no pressure against them Great eye mask - two of my friends have ordered one after trying my out.
