Are the signs sturdy enough for outdoor use, and how can they be stabilized in windy conditions?

Yes, the signs are suitable for both indoor and outdoor play. On windy days, it's recommended to anchor the base of each sign with a large rock, homemade sandbag, or a small car tire to ensure they remain stable during playtime.

Does the traffic light change colors automatically, and what do I need to operate it?

The working traffic light adds an authentic touch to the play set. It requires 3 AAA batteries (not included) to operate. A small Phillips screwdriver is needed to open the safety-designed battery compartment.
