I think it should. The hardware is very good quality. The collar material is lighter weight that I expected, but definitely waterproof. I would be concerned about the collar cutting in if my dog pulled at his leash, but I use a harness for any walk longer than a potty break, so it should be fine. It works ok for his tag that slides onto his collar, but the tag moves along it a lot because the collar is not as thick as a typical one.
