He has very big ankles (not fat, just big) it is really hard to find socks that will fit his huge, growing feet and go over his ankle and not be tight. Tube socks seem like the ideal choice, because they can fit many sizes of feet, however (and I don't understand why) they are really hard to find. These are mostly cotton which he definitely needs and they have a decent stretch to them, more would have been better, but they do fit over his ankle and his leg. They covered most of his calf, about 5" below his knee. I tried these on out of the package they aren't very soft, but not too rough or scratchy (I have sensitive skin). I wear a women's 11 shoe and I'm a big girl they were right below my knee and were not too tight, a little more stretch to it would have been better but it was comfy enough. This is day 1 so I don't know about durability, but if I remember I will update after some wear and washing.
