NF-1 Nano Protein Skimmer - in-Sump

Product arrived and looked pretty big. Thankfully it fit perfectly in my Innovative Marine Nuvo 20. When i say perfectly, i mean so snug that i had to push it down with a bit of force into the 2nd chamber (water coming up). At first i removed the rubber feet for a less snug fit but this affects the water level in the skimmer as these feet are plugging holes directly into the main reservoir, do not remove. Did not need the included magnet for this setup but i tested it out and it holds strong. Within 8 hrs of run time, after closing the overflow as far as I could per the directions, it produced the skimmate as shown in the picture. I don't see any micro bubbles in the tank and it’s quieter than the fan for my AI prime. The collection cup is larger than I thought it would be which is good because i can see myself forgetting to empty it occasionally. All in all, great buy, and I will update with any unforeseen issues, longevity, etc.

After a month of using it , making it too late to return. The skimmer is junk. Its small and fits a back sump but the cup is tiny. The issue which makes it so that i wouldnt get it is that its impossible to adjust. Basically it has to be ajusted daily to make it work . I have probably gotten 5 good skim days out of a month. Skip the skimmer and spend the days spent adjusting it on water changes. Its junk stay away.

So I'm going to start off by saying, after trying nearly a dozen nano skimmers now most aren't very effective. This little guy does an admirable job though. Skimmate is a little wet, but every day there is more in the cup. Been running about a month on my nuvo 20 and it's doing well. Tight, and I do mean tight fit in the nuvo 20 sump area but it works. I've only found that 4 out of the 11 nano skimmers I've tried worked enough to matter. This happens to be top 2 if not the best. Give it a few days running wide open, then adjust the water level to the bottom of the cup and you golden

I give it my Randy Jackson rating. It's just alright, dog. Couldn't keep up with a lightly stocked 40. For a nano, it should be fine. Quiet.

I've only been using this for several weeks and so far I'm very pleased. It was a tight fit for my 20 gal Innovative Marine tank, but once I squeezed it in, it starting skimming the first day. Very happy so far.

Dose not skim nor dose it produce any Microbubbles/junk and the company that sells this product is junk as well if you return this they only give you half of your money back,in tank is who the seller is they are as junk as this product ,so if your wanting a junk skimmer this one is for you.

This is one of 2 skimmers that I have hanging inside the sump of my 65 gallon AIO reef tank. The other skimmer is one that my reef guy recommended, but this one is working out much better. For the size of tank and thickness of glass, the magnet is more than adequate. Maybe for 5/8 or more it might not work, but you need a bigger skimmer for that anyways.One slight modification. The intake has a tendency to clog with salt accumulation, and I had to take it out of the tank every month or so and flush the line. Quite the pain. A couple months back I removed the little white plastic elbow that connects the air intake tube to the impeller, and now it works like a charm without any salt clogging issues. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The pump is so tiny it just draws very little air and can only run wet skimmate. Well built and good quality but if it doesn’t skim well that doesn’t matter. For the price, you can do better.
