Smart WiFi Water Sensor, Flood and Leak Detector Alarm and App Notification Alerts, Free TuyaSmart app Compatible with Alexa and Google Home

I have a basement that occasionally floods. As I have various Alexa devices through out the house, I bought this, as It was supposed to work with Alexa.Let me start by saying it's a handsome unit. The alarm can either rest on three pins, or you can snap it into a wall mount (included), plug in the sensor on a cable, and monitor the potential flood zone. Configuring the app was a bit difficult, but I got the alarm to send alerts to my iPhone and Apple Watch. That works nicely.Alexa dos not detect (discover) this device, so it does not work with Alexa. And, let me expand on that a bit. In the Alexa-verse, you have two things. You have your triggers, like an Echo button, and you have your actions. In order for this thing to DO anything, it's going to have been seen, and from there, trigger a routine. That's what I was hoping for. But, instead Alexa can't see (discover) the device, so it can't trigger anything.The flipside, would be have Alexa to tell the device to do something, and what could that be other than turning on/off.

After numerous attempts to connect this water detector to my WiFi, I contacted Amazon Technical support, and it was agreed that the device was defective. I bought it through my Prime membership, but learned that since it was supplied by a 3rd party vender, I couldn't get a refund. The best I could do was exchange it for another one. I'm waiting for the new one to arrive and hope that it will work as it's supposed to. The included instructions, although in very tiny print, were easy to follow. The instructions on the App were also pretty easy to follow, so if the device works as described, it shouldn't be any problem to set up. If the 2nd device works correctly, I'll update this review.

Has no Alexa functionality whatsoever, the WIFI signal is so poor placing it under a house, in a crawl space or even under the kitchen sink will fail to notify you of any leaks. Also it will not notify you when you're not home as it is only capable of sending notifications via a local WIFI network. It lacks even the simplest push notification options. Honestly a complete disappointment, lucky I haven't had a flood while I had this piece of trash supposedly monitoring my pipes. Better safe than sorry people, don't buy this and expect to be guarded from flooding, you'll never know a flood has occured when you rely on this..... Don't go cheap, floods and insurance hassles are not worth saving 30 or 40 bucks.....

I bough two units for my basement to test it , was no succes first tested like stand alone device and all was working only buzzer sound was very low, then decided to connect to WiFi to see if it’s working because alarm from them was not sufficiently, first attempt no succes then I read instruction one more time and go next to WiFi router 1feet and try one more time to pair them and software was say success then when I was inquiring signal from app was getting errors with both units. So try two weeks with different network and router and no succes. And decide to returned because don’t satisfy description at allOnly good about this sensor was decent size an nice packing.All rest garbage.

The sensor functions. It works pretty well with the native app, but I can't for the life of me get it working with Alexa. There seems to be a bug in the app where it can't pick up the signal after setting it up, even though it gives alerts fine. I'm still disappointed because I wanted to setup some automation with Alexa using this.

Product does not function according to youtube video, came in a beat up box with no directions, there is a # for tech support, when you call it it says number out of service, scam scam scam, junk do not purchaseAmazon needs to check on there venders

I opened and followed directions. Connected to WiFi. Tested in water. Alarm was audible when water was present. Received notification on my phone. This is great!!

This us awesome, i was always worrying abour my basement flooding after a bad rain and know this sends me a message to my phone
