Excellent good value energy monitoring for LOTS of circuits. I chose to flash the device with ESPHome firmware (a little fiddly, but possible without soldering). And since I'm on single-phase electricity I was able to use one of the other phases to monitor another circuit - so I have 17 total circuits monitored. Accuracy seems very good. ESPHome gives me full (local) monitoring through Home Assistant. And, most importantly, it let me see some things where I was wasting a lot of energy unnecessarily. Both our iMac and my powerful A/V Receiver were not sleeping when not in use. So very happy with things so far. Obviously I had an electrician install this inside my consumer unit. Can't comment on Emporia's app since I don't use it.

TL;DR: ca. 2/3 günstiger als Konkurrenz, Installation platztechnisch schwierig, für Home Assistant bedingt geeignet, nur Cloud außer man flasht eine Custom-Firmware. Genauigkeit für Otto den Normalverbraucher ausreichend, aber keine Laborqualität. Und wer's nicht gelernt hat, der lässt gefälligst seine Dreckpfoten aus dem Schaltkasten draussen. Etwas mehr Detail: - Die Verarbeitung ist OK, wenn man von der einen oder anderen losen Klemme absieht - Die Anbringung auf Hutschiene ist mittels optional erhältlicher Hutschienenklemme machbar. Der Hersteller bietet eine an, aber allgemein verfügbare Universaladapterplatten passen auch größtenteils. - Das Gerät ist schon aufgrund der vielen Anschlüsse relativ groß, so dass ein Installation im Schaltschrank dem Elektriker wahrscheinlich die Halsadern raus treiben wird. In einem großen Anschlusskasten für ein Einfamilienhaus ist es gerade so machbar, in einem kleinen für eine Wohnung: Vergesst es. Das Ding ist mit Anschlüssen locker seine 12 Einheiten breit, und dann ist der Platz für die Stromklemmen noch nicht einberechnet. - Für die Stromsensoren zwischen den Kabeln Platz zu finden ist ebenfalls nicht einfach - Die Kalibrierung der Eingangsklemmen ist nicht Laborniveau. Eine Abweichung von in Summe +-15W zwischen den Phasensensoren und der Summe der einzelnen Stromkreise ist durchaus möglich. Das macht in Summe schon mal 0.3kWh pro Tag aus. Wer also eine exakte Messung, z.B. für Abrechnungszwecke braucht, ist mit diesem Gerät auf dem Holzweg. Die Messungen sind eher qualitativ denn quantitativ zu lesen - Vernetzung mit existierenden Smart-Home-Systemen ist vom Hersteller quasi nicht vorgesehen. Es gibt einzelne Möglichkeiten, aber die erfordern alle etwas bastlerisches Geschick und ggf. auch den Verzicht auf die Garantie. - In der neuesten Variante sind alle Kabel geklemmt und nicht mehr angespritzt, so dass die Verlegung der Kabel im Schaltschrank zumindest etwas einfacher ist als noch bei der Version 2. - Ab Werk sollte man erst einmal alle Klemmen gründlich nachziehen, schlechter Kontakt führt zu seltsamen, unerklärlichen Messwerten. - Die Bedienung ist ab Werk nur mit der herstellereigenen App möglich. Eine Weboberfläche oder lokale API gibt es nicht. Dafür muss das Gerät mit einer Custom-Firmware bespielt werden. Eine solche existiert zwar, ist aber nicht für Anfänger geeignet.

Stop reading reviews and buy this already! Short version: easy to install, amazing customer service, great application with quick and simple setup, and quickly shows you where your power is going! First off, I am not a professional electrician and I would never advise anyone to attempt working in a breaker box if you’re not comfortable and know what not to touch. I was nervous taking off the breaker panel and staring at all of those wires knowing they could shock me. Now, if your panel is labeled correctly and well, you may have it easy, but mine wasn’t. I started by throwing each breaker and mapping them out. Then, I threw the main breaker at the top and used a voltage tester to check each circuit and the only thing that was live was the two large wires at the top. DO NOT TOUCH those wires. With the power off, I clipped on each of the sensors to the black wires going into the breaker, attached the two power wires to the controller to an empty breaker, and turned on the power by moving the main breaker back on. Overall, may have taken me 30 minutes to install everything. The app connects to the controller easily and setup was a breeze. They walk you through each phase of the setup to optimize your controller. I have a sub panel that comes off of my main breaker that powers a second garage. I was not able to figure out why that sensor was showing no power, so I called their customer service. I got to talk to an actual human and he was friendly and knew exactly what to do. Within a few minutes, he had that sensor working and fixed a few multipliers on some others that I had set up wrong. I even called back and got voicemail. I didn’t leave a voicemail, but he still called me right back. I could not ask for better service! I’ve had this up and running since mid January. See the attached photo. My power bill has dropped from an average of $160 a month down to $30 (yes, I have solar and this system also helps monitor that). This device has already saved me more in power than it cost me! Absolutely worth every penny! I’ve compared the power usage from the app to my power bill and my solar app and it is spot on! Great added benefit - I can see exactly what time my son turns off his computer at night. I can tell if someone left the bathroom light on, and I can basically manage everything in my house. I’ve now tied this into home assistant and am working on using it to shut things off when power consumption exceeds solar output during peak rates hours. Absolutely love it!!!
