I have multiple personal fans because I'm always hot in the summer. This one has become my favorite. I love that it folds for taking it with me, I can angle the air flow, and the multiple levels are very accommodating. I seriously wanted to buy a second because I fear the death of the first with no reason.

I use it while mowing in the Florida heat and humidity - and while it doesn't stop you from sweating, it does cool the area around the neck helping me feel cooler, and the fan is just strong enough to keep the air moving around my face and ears without being too aggressive. A lot of reviews say the plate stops being effective because it becomes 'heat soaked', that's not accurate. It's your neck, or rather where the plates touch your neck, that become 'cold soaked' - the plate themselves continue to be cold so I just adjust it to keep the cool moving around. Is this the same as an air conditioner in your car or house, no. It's more like an ice cube (but not as cold, mind you) that doesn't melt that you hang on your neck. Also, the air the fan blows is NOT cold, keep that in mind. If the ambient air is hot, it's going to be blowing that same temperature air at your cheeks - still better than stagnant air tho. Battery life is meh, not short, but not particularly long, so on a longer day I'd bring my portable power pack to keep it running. It's also not heavy, when I was digging up a few sprinkler heads it never felt like it was getting in my way. Does give 'neck brace' vibes tho, but not overly restrictive anyway.

Worked great except the charge didn't last as long as stated. It helped me tolerate a record-breaking heat wave in France this summer. Very comfortable to wear.

The fan was purchased for my mother who enjoys working and sitting out in the Florida heat. She is very hard to buy for so I figured something different would be good. When she got it, she was clearly skeptical of its usefulness. I got a call from her a week later saying that it was shockingly effective and comfortable. The low fan speed worked perfectly for keeping her comfortable while reading on the deck and the higher fan speeds kept her much more comfortable while she was spending more energy doing yard work. Dad tried it and now he is buying one.

Ok item but not that great. I tried using them outdoors for mowing and general yard work. while they do blow air as advertised, not enough to really make a difference. They only blow the air at the ambient temperature, no cooling. I found them to annoying when I wore them around my neck. Not recommended.
