This book helped me understand family and friends that have trouble with alcohol. I wish I would've known about it years ago. I am not someone who enjoys reading but this book was a godsend and is easy to understand and has real life examples and stories. I wish I would've ordered this book years ago because it has helped me understand and know how to cope with friends and family that struggle with alcohol. Excellent book!

Great book. Clear wording. Clear, smudge proof print. Easy to read. I didn’t realize how much I was affected by my loved ones’ drinking until I read this. A lot of my own behavior was explained in this book. Once I began reading it, I couldn’t put it down.

Highly recommend if you are effected by someone’s drinking/behavior. Part One helps you understand the 12 step ‘program’ and how to achieve peace, joy, and serenity no matter the circumstances. It is a great introduction to the program. Part Two shares the experiences of many people who have had to deal with this issue and found peace through the Al-Anon mindset. I first read it over 3 years ago, but still come back to it as a reference. I’ve done lots of underlining. The program is really just a mature perspective on dealing with all life’s problems. Highly recommend. Try it! You won’t regret it!

I am a Recovering Alcoholic, and a friend of mine asked me for help with her Husband (Practicing Alcoholic), I referred her to this Book. This book is a great Primer for dealing with a Practicing Alcoholic. It's important to Network as time goes on, but this is a good place to start.
