Panasonic RP-WF 950 E-S silver

Liked good sound and listening to broadcasts all round the house and garden ! Brings the tv sound right next to you.Avoids annoyiny others because only you can hear it....I am 82 yo with age related loss of hearing and these phones let you stay connected.I am on my second pair of phones, sat on the first set and broke the bridge.Didnt like the two pin power plug meant for asia rather than europe and the fit to the recharging base on this set.

This is my thrid set of these headphones. Because the earpiece covering was breaking up and I had problems with the earphone jack going into my TV, I ordered these - the cheapest I could find. I think they are being discontinued. I was surprised to find these phones had a European two pin plug, which is quite long and flimsy. I had to use an adaptor to 3 pin GB plug, but this meant that overall the plug arrangement sticks out about 10cm and is awkward and unsatisfactory. However, because these were cheaper than others, I am using them. The headphones are quite tight and could be uncomfortable on 'wide' heads. The sound is great the range is excellent - reaching all over the house and about 20 mtrs down the garden. The base charging unit sites behind my tv and takes a while to charge the headset. I put the headphone jack into the tv (or radio where I now have my old set) when I want to listen through the phones, taking it out of the tv when finished. The headset is by the bed, off the charging cradle, until required and keep their charge for ages. I get about 10 hours of use between charges. On/off switch fiddly. Rotary control for volume difficult to use, but I use remote on tv for that. There is a very loud noise when there is a silent passage from sound source, which is a surprise every time, but I think this happens with most headphones? Just have to remember to switch them off quickly! Generally if you want wireless headphones that can be left off charging cradle for ages, has good sound and range I recommend these. BUT the two pin plug is a nuisance. and does not feel sturdy. No mention of the plug in the description, but I think, for the UK version, the box should show EB after the number.

No grumbles or doubts with these phones. Very comfortable to wear and the sound is well balanced, not too 'bassy' and generally suitable for all musical listening. Set up is simple. I feel I made a good choice.

I bought these quite some years ago and am doing this as I replaced them with sennheiser RS170 headphonesThese Panasonics are much better in a couple of areasFirst is distance away from the transmittersecond is control over volume (its a wheel) and all controls built into the headset are easily identified when wearing (the rs170 are all grouped together and awful to use)Third is the surround sound seems better than the RS170so that's the good out of the wayso what is bad about theseFirst the batteries are £10 a set to replace (you can use other branded batteries in them but not charge in the headset because the originals must have a chip in them that the transmitter/charger identifies and starts the charging process) but if you don't mind recharging using a standard wall charger then cheaper batteries will work.Second is the headband its is not very good becomes flimsy and if wearing headset when busy they can move about quite a bit.Third is the Bass is a little softWould I recommend themYES!
