Well protected by the packaging. Audio is very clear. Picture is clear and bright. For the channels that I watch the reception is strong and I don’t have to tweak the antenna.

I camp in the back of my small horse trailer and this TV works great for this. When it is too cold to sit outside and have morning coffee, I can put on TV as pictured. Also, if it is raining it gives me something to do when I can't be outdoors. It doesn't take up much space and I can run it off of electric or battery. It gets many channels depending on where I am camping. In the Shawnee National Forest, I got good reception, but in Arkdale, WI nothing-but neither did anyone else who had fancy LQ trailers/RVs. I bought a 50 mile additional antenna. I have been testing it in my home north of Chicago and get lots of channels in various rooms and on the patio.

I cut the cord on cable TV and needed a new small tv for a counter corner. This one works just fine for my location. Mine is sitting on top of a wooden storage in the corner of my counter. I'm using a roku stick with it and so far, so good. The sound is a 3 out of 5 - a little tinny at first. The picture quality is also a 3 out of 5 but I didn't expect much better at this price level. It was easy to set up and comes with it's own remote control. There is a battery back up which I don't plan to use. It also comes with a small external indoor antenna which I don't plan to use. I'm happy with my little TV - I'll see how the longevity goes and possibly update my review if I have any problems. I've had this about 2 months now and it's working great.

The picture quality is fine. The sound is fine but the battery life doesn’t last that long. I charge it up overnight and when i’m watching a program, it only lasts for 2 1/2 hours, even I though I have it still charging through the electrical port I can only watch a program after letting it charge up several more hours I don’t feel a really good product

I had read in other reviews that the picture was a bit harsh, and indoors, it can be. It's not awful, mind you, just a bit harsh: a little too much contrast and color. Outdoors, however, which is where I watch this unit mostly, the picture has a very nice appearance. Battery life is good, and the tuner is as good as other bigger TVs that I own. I use this for over-the-air TV, so a decent tuner is a must. Portable, obviously, and the coax cable adapter that comes with it makes it easy to hook-up to a legit antenna. Has a TV signal strength meter of sorts, it will tell you if the signal is "bad," "normal," or "good." Even with "bad" signal I still often got an uninterrupted picture. Time will tell, but thus far I am happy with this purchase. Only drawback is the "bubble button" type remote control. I just don't like that sort of button style. Also, the remote will turn on/off other devices in the room that use the same type of remote. Not the biggest problem. I haven't had any battery outages, but I don't watch that long at any one time, so your experience may vary. In any case, you can run the TV off a portable power inverter with ease. You will probably need an external speaker for outdoor use. This thing just isn't very loud.

Excellent product. I already had a small Tyler TV and was pleased with it. This 9" one is most impressive. It came with two stands, two antennas, two power cords, a fully operational remote and other connection devices for a very reasonable price. It plays well and can do much more, I am sure, than I need it for. I highly recommend this little TV.

Tyler 9" Portable TV TTV704-9 In my review, there is a lot to cover. The reason I got the 9" and not the 7" or the 10" is because of the button layout and the external battery compartment. As far as I can tell, the 9" is the only one that allows you to access the internal battery externally. After ordering it, I was surprised by the extra manuals that came with it. I got the usual Operating Guide and the Quick Start Guide. However, I was surprised to see a Service Manual and electrical Schematics as well. I've never known any radio or TV to come with the service manual and schematics. The service manual is a yes-or-no flowchart with advice on where to test the circuit board for various circuit components with an exploded view of the unit. The schematics are full complete schematics of every button and circuit. I've never seen this before. It appears that this unit was desired with repairability in mind. For that alone, I would recommend this. The battery is easily accessed through the back battery compartment and is a 2300 mah 3.7v lithium battery pack. The battery is a little over half the size of the compartment and because the battery pack uses a small snap in connection to the circuit board, it is easy to replace the small battery pack with a larger one. So, the plus about this TV is that it was designed around repairability. That's great and more companies should do this. And I have verified that the unit can also play video files, audio files, text, and FM radio. However, the videos are played on a small 1.5" window. Really? I couldn't expand the window either. That sucks. Another thing I found out is that this unit doesn't like the TV on while it's charging. I discovered that through my experiments with antennas and reception. The reception of tv signals of this unit greatly varies between battery only operation or if it's plugged in. The reception greatly improves if it's running on only a battery. If the unit is plugged in then the reception drops by at least half. I found this out with the telescopic antenna. I live in Lubbock, TX and I'm within 5 miles of every TV station. So, with the unit running on battery with the telescopic antenna attached, it had no trouble with any of the stations and all were in the green. After plugging it into the wall to both charge the battery and run the TV, the reception dropped from good to bad with the stations dropping out. ??? Not only that but the reception got worse if I touched the unit or the antenna. ??? Okay, so I swapped out the antenna with an old rabbit ears antenna from Radio Shack. You know the kind that sat on top of the TV with the two telescopic antennas with the wire loop. I plugged that antenna into it and turned it back on and the reception returned back to the good and excellent reception again. However, every once in a while the picture would still drop out as if it was bad reception even when the unit showed good and excellent reception. So, this unit doesn't like running while it's being charged at the same time. After a while of running the tv and being charged the tv will completely drop all channels. This means this unit was designed to run off of battery only and I only got 1.5 hours out of it before it indicated a low battery. It's meant to be used for a short time, then recharged, then used, then recharged, etc. Not at the same time. Pros and Cons: Pros: 1. The unit was designed with repairability in mind. 2. Comes with a very nice service manual and schematics. 3. Which means it was designed to be easily taken apart. Which also means that it can be modified. 4. It does work as intended. Cons: 1. It is not designed to run the TV and charge the battery at the same time. 2. Reception tanks if the unit is plugged in and the TV is on. 3. All digital movie or video files are played on a very small window and can't be enlarged. Final Thoughts: Given what I know so far, I decided to experiment by plugging the unit in to charge the battery and using the TV via the 12v cigarette lighter plug through an inverter 12v power supply. I found that I didn't have the channels dropping or acting like it had a bad signal with the 12v plug as I did with the wall wart. Further, there is a chance that all the reception issues could be due to a lack of proper shielding and an electronically dirty wall wart that is inducing interference. But that's just a theory. Even if that's the case, I still don't think that this unit is meant for long term use over a couple of hours. This is meant for emergency use, tailgating, and car trips. However, because this unit was designed to be easily taken apart and repaired, it can also be modified to address the inherent issues. Such as a bigger battery or maybe some shielding to help with reception interference. Update: I've been using the unit for the past four hours with it being plugged in via the 12v cigarette lighter plug through my 12v inverter power supply. I had a thought that if the wall wart was badly made with dirty power then it's possible that it could interfere with the operation of the unit. I'm happy to say that the unit operated perfectly fine for four hours while connected to the 12v power supply. No dropped channels, no stuttering of the signal or acting as if it had bad signals. It also charged the battery at the same time. This tells me that the included wall wart is so badly made and the power is so dirty that it interferes with the operation of the unit when powered on. It will charge the battery just fine but don't count on it to run the TV properly. My suggestion is to get a high-quality wall wart for the TV with clean power and that should solve the problem. My only other observation is that the speakers suck. So, use an external amplified speaker.

Love this little TV. wife & I bought it to use in our cellar during tornado season (Oklahoma). Also use it when we loose power--last 4 years our first winter storm has hit in November and they have been nothing but horendus ice storms. Last one (2 Nov 20) some lines had 3 inches of ice on some power lines (about the TV--menus are easy to use and sound is good and volume level will drive you out of the room or you go deaf it will go so loud). Comes with 3 different antennas, we bought an RCA rabbit ear setup because the cellar is 6" concrete. You can use the FM feature and pickup radio stations. There are also inputs where you can watch pictures/video on it (from an iPhone or computer). I looked it up and found the battery should last 80 to 90 minutes. For power outages we bought a Best Tech (500 watt) inverter on Amazon of course, was 39 bucks. We go out in the garage and hook it to one of the batteries in the cars (won't run them down, the little Tyler TV only pulls about 12 to 18 watts. It was 73 dollars and some change, beats the Digital Prism we replaced by a mile, Amazon wants almost 300.00 for the Digital Prism TV. Plus the Tyler picks up the channels we need to watch during sever weather (tornados). Hope this gives some insight if your thinking about getting a small TV.
